State unemployment claim systems overwhelmed

Image...
Electronic unemployment filing systems have crashed in at least three states in recent days amid an unprecedented crush of thousands of newly jobless Americans seeking benefits, and other states were adjusting their systems to avoid being next.

About 4.5 million Americans are collecting jobless benefits, a 26-year high, so the Web sites and phone systems now commonly used to file for benefits are being tested like never before.

What no one seems to know is that states simply DELETE the chronically unemployed from their rolls so they just magically disappear. Only those newly laid-off are listed. If everyone who can't find a job were counted we would be in double-digit unemployment right now.

It burns me that I've been looking for three years and I don't even count!

    The Project has been renamed.

We need default circuit breakers and limiters put in now.

Slow and steady wins the race.

But you can always go fast just to show off.

So, hypothetically, the money runs out...then is the government liable to be sued for not doing its job?

There have to be limits as to how far some lies should go. Said the rabbit I saved from the hole.

ive been collecting unemployment for 2 months. i got laid off from news corp. they tried cutting me off 3 times. When I call I hear a familiar recording, "Unfortunately we are unable to take your call, please call back later" then it hangs up. This is of course after I punch in my social, my birthdate and about four 1's two 2's and one 0 for the several pointless automated commands. Hey NJ unemployment, why dont you just hang up on me in the beginning? It would save me some time so I can find a job.
