Cop who fatally shot handcuffed man resigns

This cop should be charged with murder!

Soooo ... anyone know why he shot him? It happened like, a week ago. My outrage found out it's a week old, got confused and left. Anyone? I think the REAL outrage is why the national media have ignored this story for a WEEK! and the kid shot and killed in Houston in his own driveway in his own car ... National news?

im 100% positive that this was not an accident. there are a few very significant differences between a tazer and a handgun. foremost the weight difference. a trained cop would not make this simple mistake. and also why was the cop aiming the "tazer" at the victims spine? isnt that a potential spot that would cause extensive damage with a tazer? once again another mistake a real cop wouldn't make. and why would he need to taze a helpless victim in the first place? i sincerely hope the judge and jury do not give these dogs any leniency.

does anyone know if this protest will happen again. I'd love to come out and film and support the civilians, show those piggies that they are not above the law.

Intentional or not this is murder. You don't "forget" which deadly weapon you have in your hand. If you get too nonchalant about holding a gun or a tazer you shouldn't be in the job. Killing has become to easy and too palatable in this country, especially when it is done by cops.

Why did he get the gun out of it's secure place? This Pig has to be charged with Murder. NOW.

The shooter's immediate reaction makes me believe it wasn't an intentional killing. Nonetheless, his actions should not go unpunished.

This horrifying shooting death, while it should not go unpunished, may very well have been a tragic accident. Which raises a bigger question, should BART officers be allowed to carry firearms in addition to their stun guns?

nobody knows why he shot him he won't speak to nobody and they haven't arrested him. the story i have heard is that there was a fight and bart police were called out. Oscar was trying to calm the situation down but they restrained him anyway. the person who was sitting beside him said that he was complying with the officers orders but he was begging not to be tazed, at least 3 officers had their tazers out including the officer who executed him. the reason why they decided to make him lay face down i don't know, but when the officer shot him he was laying face down with handcuffs on, there wasn't even a logical reason to taze him.

i don't know if they will be protesting everyday but there will be one on the 14th at city hall at 4pm then a march to the bart police headquarters

Yeah break stuff and get arrested... THAT will show the police who is boss... People weren't just destroying cop cars, they set innocent people's cars on fire and destroyed private property as well, how is that any better than cops attacking private citizens? I am not saying I am for the cops that did this at all, but what do people expect to accomplish by being mindlessly destructive? It only shows the police that brutal force is neccesary to stop idiots like that. Fight them legally and intelligently, it's the only way to really win. I thought we had evolved beyond caveman antics...

i've been following this story since day one as im sure a lot of interested people have been doing. who cares that the cop resigned? we knew that he resigned yesterday.

also, i cant believe how many people think that the shooting was unintentional. if you see the video, you can see that there was no reason for the cop to even have his gun drawn, let alone have it pointed at an unarmed, handcuffed man's BACK.

if i were an oaklander, i would still be in the streets.

of course if a crackhead shoots up a head shop and kills a white girl right next to my house like last month, no one gives a shit.

as terrible as this tragedy is, it needed to happen. how it manifests itself matters not, but we should have been rioting a long ass time ago. look at the bigger picture.

Honestly, we're f'ed. Cops are people. People are flawed, ignorant, fearful, and imperfect. So unless robots police the streets, this is going to happen. Since there has always been poverty as a result there will be crime and thus cops, and this will happen again.

I watched the video last night. The cop had no reason to shoot the innocent man laying on his stomach. He should be charged for murder!!!
