World Jews call on Israeli soldiers to stop war crimes

Image...
Open letter to Israeli soldiers: "We Jews in the international community call upon Israeli soldiers to raise the black flag of illegality over the operations against the people of Gaza.

We refuse to remain silent while Israeli leaders force Israeli soldiers to commit war crimes: crimes against humanity for which they will one day be called to account. Israeli soldiers of conscience can, and must, stop this dangerous, illegal, and immoral war.

This criminal activity does nothing to advance the health and welfare of Jews. Rather, from Sderot to Sydney, from Ashkelon to Amsterdam, we will all benefit when there is justice for Palestinians.

Therefore, we call on you to use all measures possible to stop these atrocities against the Palestinian people. Flagrantly illegal orders must not simply be disobeyed, but actively and effectively opposed.

We members of the international Jewish community call on you, the Israeli soldiers of conscience, to halt the Israeli war machine, which only you can, and must, do."

I actually posted the book cover of Synagogue of Satan as a demonstrative pic for an article and it was pulled because of a star of david with satins mark on it...I didn't know it could be construed to mean hate!

I know there are many Jews around the world that are against this. This is a great counter balance for some of the pro-Zionist rallies who are in support of the Palestinian holocaust. Thanks for posting!

What a great post! There are many Jews around the U.S with different prospects or personal beliefs like being Orthodox or Conservative but this is a great organization I think many can unite on.

That's good to hear that they don't want to be affiliated with the horrendous crimes of the few, cold-blooded troops and elite Israeli politicians.

I have a number of Jewish friends who have risen above religious and nationalistic beliefs, and they have disagree with Israels political and military objectives for a long time.

Haha, remember when Russia struck back at Georgia and Bush and Co. (and even Obama) were yelling "disproportionate response" ?!

    Well shit...

The Georgian army leveled a whole city, some Palestinian terrorists killed 3 people.

THIS invasion by Israel is a DISPROPORTIONATE response!!!

Yet the same mouths are quiet...

it's unfortunate that this even needs to be posted, but ethnocentrism is a reality. many people have a tendency to give their own ethnic groups the benefit of the doubt.

but people need to realize, including the supporters and perpetrators of these attacks, is that this ultimately has nothing to do with judaism or jewish identity. these things only provide justification for traditional colonialism, which has been rationalized by ethnic/cultural identity throughout the ages. and because of sensitivity to anti-semitism stemming from the holocaust, zionist opportunists will exploit this fact to quell criticism. and as they're the ones who make the most noise, they largely get to determine the discourse, as if they speak for all jews, religious and secular.

This is what is needed, there are many good Jews in the world and some scared ones too, don't be mistaken. These crimes against humanity being committed by these killers should not go unpunished. These leaders are as bad as Bush and Co and they all should be in irons and prison for life. I am happy to see parts of the Jewish community protest this slaughter of innocent people. This must end and people must pay, humanity demands it.

I have a question that is kinda related to this story. I was hoping some of you could help me.

Why do Right-wingers support Isreal and Left-winger support Palestine (for the most part)? I mean, why is it not the other way around?

With all due respect World Peace TV, it is not just the Jews of the world that ask the soldiers stop the violence in the Gaza strip. It is the christians, the Muslims, the atheists and anyone else who has any bit of a heart wants this to end. Religions do not set people apart. We are humans, and we must work toward resolving problems that anyone has.

Um... Jews in the United States? Right...They are not the ones who have rockets landing in their backyards.

How about we get the public opinion of those Jews? The ones who actually live in Israel and have to live with these Hamas terrorist bastards daily.

Funny how Hamas henchmen launche rockets at Israel, then wear clothes to intentionally blend in at hospitals, schools, and mosques, and when Israel tries to defend herself by bombing such places, it is labeled the monster.

Want proof that you anti-Israel people ARE actually anti-semites? Here it is: you (or the UN) don't protest when Hamas endangers their civilian population by intentionally blending in among them and hiding ammunition in schools, hospitals, and mosques during a time of war. But the moment Israel responds to PROTECT (read: the opposite of what Hamas does) it's citizens, you roar.

I guess that's why Bob Dylan called Israel the "Jew among nations".

I don't worry though, you all have what's coming to you. The Jews, though only .01% of the world population, have comprised over a quarter of all Nobel prize winners (yes, you owe them gratitude if you like watching TV, going to Vegas, or if you enjoy life without polio). Watch what the Arabs will give you when you let them loose on your community (hint: look what they're doing to Israel).

so your "proof" is the ALL of humanity is less than Jews? .....as a Semite I say it's the hate mongers and those that think one soul is worth more than another that will be the end of mankind

Too bad more people who think like this aren't the ones with the all-powerful war machines.

The soldiers cannot flat-out refuse orders, so the only way to sincerely pull off such an initiative would be to find a loophole that rendered them unable to perform their "job".

In order to succeed with such a stunt, it would require voluntary participation on both sides at once as a sign of sincere commitment.

    Bingo.

    Just figured it out.

Now all I need to do it work out the details.

Wow, now how can I orchestrate this.

We're not going to be erasing any identities and cultures and belief systems, but we might end up relegating them to the pages of history?

Why are you living 2,000 years in the past?

I always like new things, too bad there isn't a new belief system that could defuse all this by getting everyone to diffuse themselves at the same time.

    OK. Hear me out.

This whole scenario is completely impossible to solve right? And people are willing to sacrifice their lives in the name of blah, blah, blah.

Well, are you ready to suffer in the name of blah, blah, blah too? Well then, you better damn sure choose what you believe in, because you're about to have to really prove it if you are what you say you think you are.

What the hell am I trying to say?

The only way you could defy the command structure is by self-sacrifice. But if people are willing to give life, are they willing to give pain instead?

    Self-inflicted pain?

    Same difference. No? It's not?

Why is that? So, you're willing to die for your cause of war, but you're not willing to endure temporary voluntary food poisoning?

What am I talking about "voluntary food poisoning"?

If the people are suffering so much as it is, and those on the front line on the suffering on both sides understand how self-destructive inflicting pain on others is and want to stop...

Well, here's how you give them the opportunity via symbolic demonstration of non-life threatening, temporary sabotage of yourself as a weapon or an angry person over an injured one in pain.

Call it Operation: Mirror, and reflect the propaganda flaws through symbolic food or candy, that those who are truly in pain show just how much pain they are willing to temporarily take in exchange for creating understanding to promote the long term discontinuation of the angry behavior.

When people are weak, sick, and in pain, they become much more vulnerable and understanding, if warriors would symbolically put themselves in condition that would cause them to understand and rely on the "enemy", then they might feel differently after understanding that the voluntary pain is no different.

You know who could do this and how?

    Not you?

Oh, what, you're not willing to get a stomach ache in the name of world peace?

Isn't that what the soldiers do anyway, while we at home just suffer a relative headache?

Well, anyway, if it were my country at war, it would be powerful if I saw that all of the all-powerful invading soldiers got sick at once, on purpose.

Now then, what if you got sick at the same time?

Perhaps could be seen as an act of God symbolically purging the salt from the wounds.

Does this sound like Medieval shit?

Ding, ding, ding--that's the same place your God's behavior came from, you don't have to fight when you treat yourself and everyone else like humans.

Sure, there are opportunists in the world, but those are the ones you need to look out for in the context of war. I'm sure anything is possible with the right propaganda.

But that doesn't mean it's right, as my story should have just demonstrated. Sure, it exists as a completely hypothetical scenario...but does it exist? Does God want you to hurt others and cause others to want to hurt you?

    No. No?

I think that is what has been lost in the world.

Oh what fools ye mortals be.

You are right, and it amazes me that others don't see the message, it may be because they don't want to and that those who present it correctly create too much reading.

  •

War you're just tring to make this appear worse. Seems to me it's bad enough all by itself. You don't need to help it. I doubt this kind of posting is gaining you many new supporters. Most folks have pretty much made up their mind how they feel about it already.

You understand, of course, that this isn't exactly new. Jews are just like anybody else, there isn't a thing they all agree on. There have been Jews protesting in Israel.
