This is terrible, how can they allow this? Is the healthcare really that bad?

In 1983 there were 1.6 millions abortions. That is, one abortion every 20 seconds.

    (365*24*60*60)/1600000

United States had the health care one level lower than Costa Rica. (According to 2004 and CR has improved a -lot- since then)

9/10ths of the worlds miscarriages do not have a toilet.
A natural occurrence that is certainly sad for the persons involved, but very common. Hospitals are generally not necessary for treatment.

    Sure makes disposal easier.

The toilet thing is very harsh and I realize that it's not a comfortable experience for an individual. It would be cruel to say I didn't feel so sorry for the pain she had.

On a more cynical note, I'm unfortunately too honest to not mention, in the big picture women do miscarry from time to time. I imagine lots of these terrible occurrences are never pretty, fun, or emotionally sound. It's just too bad it happened to her.

Perhaps it was God's will that they only have two mouths to feed.

My neighbor just allegedly had a miscarriage, and since she was clearly in no position to be a mother, I think that was a blessing from God on society as a whole.

This woman obviously has a husband and a family, but with the global economy weakening and all the other problems in the world, much worse things have happened and continue to happen on a daily basis.

Perhaps it's a blessing in disguise?

This isn't as rare as you might think!
When a nurse directs a woman to do it though?
    That's just wrong.
How about a little respect for a life that never made it into this cruel world alive. It's not too much to ask is it?
