weird... OK so did anyone actually read the article? I read the article all the way through and although the bridewealth itself was a bit odd, it seems like this is a normal custom for them and the girl willingly went. True she was a bit young, but many other cultures have arranged marriages with bridewealths. The title of this is misleading as it the article....the dad didn't sell her or participate in human trafficking, he was participating in a social custom and all parties were willing. Arranged marriages are just a part of other cultures, we may not agree with them but that doesnt mean they are necessarily wrong...there are many people who happily fall in love with their arranged partner.

Personally I feel 14 is way to young for marriage, but thats really the only thing I see wrong with this whole issue. That and he shouldve asked for some Tecate too.
