Remember how Obama said that he wasn’t going to take your guns(He Lied!!)?

Well, it seems that his allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo!

The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers.
Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded.

Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including hand loaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more!

If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!

This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington.

Send to your friends in these states AND fight to dissolve this BILL!!

I know this is from a blog and I'm sorry. I searched for a reputable news source, but couldn't come up with anything. Which quite frankly is a little scary.

    • So honest people get taxed more, criminals could afford a few more dollars on a drug dealers salary. When people have less experience with their legally owned firearms more accidents happen. This hurts the wrong group once again. Our legislators are getting dumber by the day.

    • First off, IF this is true the title is grossly misleading. Requiring one to buy coded ammunition is not the same as not being allowed to buy or sell ammunition.

Second, what has this got to do with Obama?

Third, this is an example of the bullshit we're going to be listening to from the right for the next four years. Obama did this Obama did that Obama is demanding that everybodys first born must be sacrificed to the volcano god!! GIVE ME A BREAK.

For eight long painful years we heard SQUAT from the right wing about Bush's illegal war, the legalization of torture, politicization of the Office of Attorney General, special rendition, election fraud, the outing of a CIA agent, illegal spying, massive contractor fraud in Iraq, crushing debt, Katrina, his negligence in the lead up to 9/11, his war on the environment and consumers etc.

Now, all of a sudden they start demanding accountability from a man who hasn't spent one full day in the Oval Office about things that are so anile and irrelavent that one is forced to question their fundamental ability to aquire and process information at a level above that of an organatan. What is WRONG with you people!!!

Until the conservatives in this nation learn to talk about issues that are REAL, substantive and IMPORTANT then they are doomed to spend their days in the political twilight zone, which is fine with me.

    • This is a lied. There is no such bill or document to impose this comment. Who ever wrote this is spouting more of the 2nd Amend crap that does nothing but cause confusion and panic buying. There are far more pressing issues for the President elect to address. It has already been proven that all the past anti bills has done nothing but proved to the public that a disarmed city is a haven for thugs. Stats shows clearly that law abiding gun owners are not a problem even those with conceal permits. The only persons befitting from this ammo scare are going to be gun shop owners who more than likely cause the panic buying of firearms before the election and shortly thereafter. If you are that concern home load.

Wait...I thought Obama was president of the federal government. Since when did he also run and obtain power to push legislation in 18 states (heavily republican dominated states like Indiana for that matter)?

Before blaming Obama, perhaps you might want to see if it isn't the people themselves, growing tired of being prey to ever more powerful handguns, who is pushing the bills

Is the concern that, should we decide to organize a militia of citizens to overthrow our government, that they'd be able to track down who was part of the resistance? Just want to make sure I'm understanding the issue here. Thanks.

The government could restrict your right to purchase ammo. Since they are going to keep track of how much and what type you're buying, the next logical step is to say...Okay, sir you've bought enough this year.

This also restricts your right to load your own ammo. That in and of itself is crazy.

It also opens the door to any number of crazy laws they want to pass.

    • The neocons and the patriot act has taken your guns.

Obama STILL is not sworn in, and you have given him all this power.
You are trying to divide us. Dividing us is how the bad guys have their way with us!

    • "Guns aren't tools. They're for protecting your family, hunting dangerous or delicious animals and keeping the King of England outta your face!"

It still blows my mind (no pun intended) that current.com attracts/contains so many gunners!

Does this mean that this bill would drive gun owners to my state for ammo salvation?!!? Oh, no. I better Kevlar my windows.

    • Geez, bust out the tin foil hats.

Why exactly would the government need to round anyone up and put them in concentration camps???

Bush wiped his ass with the Consitution. Literally rewrote it through "interpritations" of his War Powers and bogus signing statements.

And all of the gun owners in America did....what?

      Nothing.

The idea that the government is going to control you through tanks rolling down mainstreet is a fantasy....one PUSHED by the government to keep you docile.

We've got gun owners looking out there windows waiting for the tanks....and totally oblivious to the real take-over that already took place through a series of signing statements.

Karl Rove (love'em or hate'em) is a genius.

"Those liberals are gonna take your guns away! Look! Look over there! Pay no attention to these boring old signing statements. Don't pay any attention to the billions of dollars that just -- poof! -- disappeared in Iraq and is totally unaccounted for. Ignore all that! They are gonna take your guns away and control you!"

    • nothing would surprise me....stockpile your ammo and guns and bury them all. I have no idea what all the people in the big cities will do. I own a farm in the middle of nowhere and i will see them coming for a mile. i would rather die a free man than live in the gov concentration camps they are preparing even as we type.

    • Um, I'm ok with this. In fact I wish it was in Michigan.

And yes I am a gun owner, and think I can spare an extra $2.50 to make the US a little bit safer.
