I have a lot of respect for Keith Olbermann. He is of course, correct when he states that Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld ordered people to be tortured.

However, it is extremely unlikely, given Obamas need for republican congressional cooperation during this time of financial crisis that the Bush Administration will be prosecuted for their war crimes. Still, if I were Obama, I would hang the threat of prosecution over the heads of these same republicans to get their cooperation on critical issues.

I don't think that this will happen, but Bush should go to jail.

This was a well put together segment and I think he hit it right on the head. These were terrible crimes and we need to hold them accountable. I would consider it a huge step in the right direction if any type of prosecution takes place.

George Bush a Great man. This Fruit Loop has been fired by everybody he has ever worked for. I know you can relate to that, but this doesn't give you the right to mess with George, Oberpunk is just that a fuppin punk, Obama might just need to torture him some day when my side investigates the corrupt media who was biased beyond compare. And...swayed a Presidential election. I would love to bump into Oberkuntman some day at Sears, while buying my American tools, I guarantee I would wipe that sissified smile right off his face. He is a disgrace to Journalism and America in general. Oh, good Fuppin morning.

    No really Captain Obvious?

I'm so sick of America feeling proud of itself for doing nothing but getting of its ass for one day and voting.

We happily handed over our rights in return for safety, and let a war criminal walk away.

We should be ashamed, not proud.

Olberman never seems to address the crime of 3000 innocent people dying in NY. Hmm, wonder why?
He would be first to the microphone if the country was attacked again saying Bush did not do enough. This is standard ratings strategy.

yes I guess the best that will come from Obama's admin in regards to Bush's admin war crime allegations is that obama could hold it against congressional republicans as a form of insurance/(blackmail)/leverage in order to gain republican support or cooperation on critical issues.

I would love to hear from you idiots five specific, referenced war crimes that Bush is guilty of. That is, no generalized "OMG he tortured people!!" It's easy and for that matter trendy to just shout about putting Bush in jail, or that we need "change" (what change exactly I still haven't heard), but nobody ever backs it up. If we put every president who authorized torture in jail, they would all be in jail. Grow up.

If torturing Bin Laden would have prevented the September 11th tragedy and prevented the death of thousands, would it be worth it? Is it a bad choice to make one suffer for the safety of thousands of lives that are depending on you to protect them?

This is basically what the last days of the Roman Republic were like. Toward the end there was never a peaceful transition of power. Everyone who led and was defeated was subject to their liberty and property being taken. Is this really what we want to be as a country? Can we just let go and MOVE ON?

The reward for those who have protected the country for seven years, who have kept us safe in our beds for seven years, is persecution, rather than our thanks and our appreciation.

Keep baaahhing you bunch of sheep. I can't wait unitl the first time your new messiah messes up. The media does not make or report the truth, it reports what it chooses and ignorant people around the world slurp it up. Keep believing what you are told and do not form your own opinions. It is people like you that allow dictators to flourish.

The only thing more vile than Oberman's adjenda are the beheadings of decent people in the name of the terrorists he would defend.

I would be happy with Cheney, Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz.

Look, we all know that the Bush administration is guilty on numerous misdeeds like torture. But bringing him up on war crimes charges that certainly would not stick would only further divide the country. It's a tough pill to swallow, but we've got to move forward towards unity like Obama said in his speech.
