I'm quite interested in what this means. Which accounts were yours, which posts were deliberately provoking, which posts got censored and what exactly are you trying to prove in the first place?

I can't speak for katanajon's purpose or strategy, mine however it to use the jackhammer of truth to break open concrete minds and see if there any rational thought processes left to set free. Admittedly not have much luck though as all to many appear beyond hope, and it seems they've been taken over by the dark side !

Cries of censorship on the net crack me up: so what you're saying is, Current is actively preventing you from registering your own site and saying what you want?

Actually, I don't know what you're saying, all I hear is "they are evil, they censor," etc. but one key thing is missing: SPECIFICS. Exactly what did you try to do and what did Current do?

Please don't tell me you've wasted the last 6 months of your life to prove the theses that 1.) people are biased and 2.) websites alter content according to that bias. It sounds like that's your "finding" and that makes me laugh my ass off, because that's so rudimentary.

As for me, my policy remains: no matter the site, I post what I feel, if the owner deletes it, that's their business. If I feel strongly enough about it, I post it on my own blog.

BTW, I tweetered the hell out of the debates, I never saw a single comment of mine appear on Current TV. I however, opted not to launch a six month "sting" operation to prove that editors make choices based on their bias. LOLMAX.

Nobamanjon, there are few people I hated more than you.

But some how I grew to love you.

We argued and insulted each other relentlessly.

We disagreed on nearly everything possible.

But at the end of the day you were always a nice guy to me.

hmm, current is clearly left leaning (it was started by gore remember). that said, I have seen conservatives articles make it to the front page. the thing is, for the majority of the last 8 years conservatives have been in the wrong...about everything (note the destroyed economy, middle class, middle east etc). Not to say that liberals have been right always, that's not my intent but the majority of posts coming from conservatives have been, to be blunt, bullshit trying to contradict "liberal" posts or simply cause controversy. I think the "nobamajon project" epitomized that.

The only thing I see here is a bunch of the conservative posters whose stories were voted down (either by staff or other posters). The site clearly states that its staff will bump articles up (and thus down as well) at their prerogative. In fact, by flooding the site with bullshit like the NBJ project you most likely increased the staff actively censoring everyones articles, in essence, you created and carried out a self fulfilling prophecy bringing everyone down with you. well done.

Man up, stop snivelling. Sorry for being harsh but its not communism and you conservatives should be applauding that.

one other thing, creating multiple user identities to flood the site "in an attempt to establish objectivity" is a very flawed notion.

There are no specifics listed here! No evidence displayed in any manner, scientific or otherwise! This is not a "project" or an "experiment - its clearly a rant-filled lie designed to save face and connect deeply with your right wing comrades.

Follow the link posted at the top of this blog. You know, the one that's supposed to be about this fictitious project... It takes you to a completely unrelated yahoo article about STAR TREK.

This nobabajon character (who I suspect is actually some precocious 14 year-old cheerleader with republican parents) woke up one day and said, "I sure do feel stupid now that Obama is president, and nobody on current respects me. Hmmmm... how can I make it look like I DON'T have egg on my face, and I'm NOT a fool for saying all those ignorant, hateful things."

Hence, this "Nobamajon Project" post. There is no "We" involved here! There was no planned project! All that's displayed here are the hopeless tribulations of someone who feels stupid and is trying to save face. If this were a real project of some sort, you'd have far more details and evidence here than just an "I told you so" post, which this is. If this were an attempt to do a real experiment, then you'd go post similarly provocative things on the Fox forums, only as a LIBERAL, and attempt to document how much THEY censor. But no, just another sad republican who is angry that there are sites out there for Non-republicans, which is essentially what Current is.

Newsflash: This site never claimed to be anything but the internet version of Al Gore's TV channel. Its emphatically NOT bi-partisan. Just like Fox isn't. Hmmmm, yes, now I remember why I don't visit here anymore...OR watch current TV. As with all media in America it quickly becomes propaganda based on profits from advertising and their target demographic. And as all media in America, it is corporate owned and influenced with only one objective...to make money. And if the organization can convince the ignorant populace to keep coming back, the money rolls in and the public believes it is being well served, So the media outlet continues to feed them what they want to hear so they keep coming back for more so the media outlet keeps making money. Capitalism and "free" speech, a perfect union for controlling the masses.
Also interesting how Obamanation was so convinced to 'fight the man' and all tht. So now there is no more 'waitin' on the world to change' and is Obamanation still going to 'fight the man', now being that infamous man, or will they blindly follow like good little sheep....just as the blind conservatives followed their righteous leader?

CLARIFICATION...The project was originally started as an idea. The idea was to study how the Left liberals citizens communicated with the Right conservatives. Started out of curiosity originally. But quickly our focused changed upon seeing nefarious treatment from the site itself toward the Right conservatives. We were neither Left or Right in fact the team is equally split. I see by reading this, some still want make it into a quote "pissing contest" between Nobamajon and posters he rubed the wrong way. It is much bigger than that, so please open your minds just a little. There are posters from both the Left and Right implanted in the site. These posters enjoy themselves very much on the site. We have no political bias and we all feel both sides have valid points. It never was about which side was MORE right. It was about the interaction, and recording some of this for history. So that 200 years from now there would be a written record record. Nobamajon was just a piece of the puzzle. He went onto Current and the first night was promptly attacked by the Left posters.We thought "this is gonna be fun" so.....we carried on with our plan. But we quickly found that the anger between the Left and the Right wasn't even the story. The story was....the sculpting of News by Current it self. In our research we have figured out that the whole voting system is "Make Believe" sure you can vote something up or down. And sometimes influence how quick something climbs. But if Current staffers don't want that point of view out there or if they don't like that particular poster, the article will be pulled instantly. In addition. Alex Jones has also reported on Currents censoring. We ran into that but we will discuss that at a later time, not much of a smoking gun to think that a Left website might censor a right poster. But what surprised us the most at the blatent attempt to keep certain posters down. Jon is just one. For example Gauisfurius had eight articles removed last weekend while they were climbing fast, uncontroversial stock yahoo news items. There was no reason to censor these. On Saturday he had the number 1 and number 2 articles at the top of the UK page, with 12 minutes to go 1# had 130% all others underneath were in the negative range, at 4 minutes both articles were completely gone NO WHERE to be found. This same thing happened a few times this weekend. Other posters have complained also which weren't even in our study. Katanajon had two artiles hit number 1# this weekend and miraculously when this happened the clock stopped. "technical problems" when the clock started back up his articles were gone. This happened to him 4 times last week. These are just a couple examples. Those of you which wish to cling to the Left/Right thing need to know we are trying to help both sides. lol yea max gloating now that all of "my friends" friends suffered the epic fail. what i really look forward to is seeing them come around and hearing them compliment obama for being a good leader. i've heard it a couple of times already. i mean who doesn't miss the 40 hour workweek?

@all... you guys and gals are so funny..... i, as a libertarian atheist, was one of the fairly early folks to discover current.com.

it was obvious from the get-go that it would probably be a mouthpiece organization for Big Al and The Tree-Huggers, but i thought it might be a place to engage "them" in an intellectual discussion with some slim chance of asking questions or posting data which might change some of their minds.

nobamajon wasn't the best or worst of my antagonists. that half-dozen or so know exactly who you are. i've linked some of your quotes from my personal website at plusaf.com. feel free to search for your handle there.

for the most part, though, i've found current.com to be surprisingly quite even-handed. the folks i've debated with and against who've been "censored" or even temporarily silenced by the Powers That Be were folks i thought had gone a bit over the top in their style of trying to communicate their ideas and beliefs.

and, as i've said before, IT IS THEIR SITE and they CAN do whatever the frack they want with it, including censor ANYONE who post a view they decided they don't like today.

that's the same kind of freedom i want here, and i can live with it.

you should have seen the looks of surprise on MY face when they sent me "reward" goodie bags of gifts for MY participation here! SEVERAL TIMES. the hat, the t-shirt, the carry-bag and more. NEVER expected "those censoring bastards" to reward ME for anything I'D ever say here.... :))))

and they let me keep saying it. i kept most of my comments civil unless someone was flat-out insulting, and then i ripped them one as fast as they tried to rip me. and almost never saw one of my posts disappear.

and i've probably only flagged a dozen or so comments here, and nearly every time, the staff agreed with me, as the posts were ads or scams or just abusive with no other content.

if this turned into a project for nobamajon, i'd love to see the results. and maybe they'll do the same at some conservative sites, but you know what?

i'd bet that the results would be within 5% of what they got here, except with the opposite signs. that's how people are. i'd also bet that if they were surprised by the "data" they collected, they're lying....

i still love it here... tweaking beaks and challenging others on their beliefs and testing my own conclusions.... still the most fun "since sex at college" as i've put it before...
