Rugby club, Alcester thought they had earned themselves a place in the record books after they thrashed Coventry Saracens 193 - 3 last weekend. But the officials have deemed the record victory as null and void, after it was known that not enough players were playing in the right positions.
Saracens had only 8 players on the field - 3 of which were in the scrum. The rugby laws say that each team needs at least 5 players in a scrum (usually it's 8).
This is a record winning margin for English league game but not world wide. That goes to French team Lavardac, when they beat Vergt 350 - 0.
Why did this game go on for so long? 193 - 3! Thats a severe beating with 8 players versus 15 it's hardley fair!
