This crap happens all the time. Corporations can even do what they want. make us pee in cups, take hair samples and as of late doing "nicotine tests"! What is going on with all this discrimination. I thought churches were supposed to love everyone!
-
Thats BS!
-
"The principal "just looked at me like I was a disease and I was so wrong," one of the girls later said."
That's awful! This is what happens when stupid people abuse and hate others in the name of religion. If Jesus were alive today, he would have slapped that principal and said "I preach love, you stupid twat!"
-
Why would you expect a hateful organization to behave any differently?
Would you expect the KKK to accept Black members?
I honestly don't see a difference.
-
What I find even more disturbing than the fact that they expelled the girls with NO PROOF (How many teenage girls, gay or straight, have pictures of themselves hugging friends? Oh, that's right--ALL OF THEM!) is the fact that they court ruled that the school didn't break any laws by telling their parents!!
A lot of teenagers who aren't out have made that decision because they fear for their safety, or that they will be kicked out of their home if their parents know they are gay. Snooping around online, then outing a teen to their parents is a horrible invasion of privacy, and potentially a dangerous one. Being young should not mean you don't get any rights!
-
Lame. I hope these discriminators "burn in hell." Lol. Sarcasm.
Really... religion is a freaking joke. All these religious people just don't have a clue to question their religion. Damn sheep.
-
well it is the schools right is it not? if they are a private religious school why would someone with a divergent religious view or lifestyle pick that place to go to school? For example would a Muslim enroll in a Jewish school etc....
-
They're just doing what Christians do best: hypocrisy. I'm sure this is exactly what Jesus would do! Right? Uh...right?

So much for the christian values of not only tolerance but acceptance of people of any difference. What would Jesus say about this? or better still Luther? both had stuggles as people not accepted by the environment and establishments that surrounded them, persecuted, and both advocated for common sense. Better still, Luther advocated every person to be their own mediator with God through the Bible, and so in this man interpreting the Bible to suit his beliefs and then imposing them on these women, he is contradicting everything the Protestant movement stands for. Good show douchebag, and thanks for making all all protestants look like bigots.

Any organization, entity, or organized educational institution should not be able to discriminate based on sexual orientation....period....
-
morals come with religion <---real simple not hard dont need a lawyer..just keep it simple and put down the Madonna cd and the star bucks cup of coffee..
-
We scream for freedom of beliefs and sexuality , and then scream about injustice when somebody else openly uses that freedom to put across some ideology we don't agree with...that's hypocrisy...It's an openly christian school with what I would assume to be christian values in play...that's their right, as much as it would be the right of an openly secular(non-christian) school to have secular values...if you disagree with the values of a PRIVATE christian school, start your own PRIVATE school.

I guess legally speaking they are in the right.
A religious school is allowed to kick someone out on a religious basis, after all they're not a school they're a fucking church.
But legally speaking, I think they also shouldn't be accredited places of learning either. You don't get a diploma if you go to "Christian" school.
What a relic of the past, the only reason you would need a religious school is to prevent your child from learning. It's like having a religious restaurant or a religious police center. What in the fuck is the purpose?
Anyways, this is a fucking ugly thing that they did. It takes some kind of asshole to kick a girl out of school for being a lesbian.
-
Even though I think that discrimination is wrong I wouldn't go to a religious school and expect them to accept it. It's better that she doesn't go there anyways. Too bad it had to go down like that.
-
The courts were right to rule that way. This is a religious school, a privat school, that (I assume) in no way receaves funding from the Federal Government. Schools like this should have a right to discriminate all they want.
The way the principal and school staff conducted their investigation, though, was out of line. Certain boundries were crossed that shouldn't be without permission from the two girls.
