The myth that eating more than three eggs a week is bad for you is apparently exactly that - a myth. A new study shows that increased egg consumption does not higher cholesterol, and rather than cutting eggs out to lower cholesterol, people should cut out saturated fats.

What isn't a myth is that eating more than three eggs a week will make you smell like you've been eating rotten cabbage.

I'm glad that it's a myth but i don't think it would really deter me from eating eggs even if it was true. why are eggs always the brunt of these sorts of things? poor eggs.

It's still a chicken period from an animal kept in nasty and cruel conditions. No thanks.

Sweet, i love my eggs, have one pretty much every day.
One of the better foods, as long as you actually keep yourself fit-ish and not allow it to gather up.

    Fried, boiled, mashed, scrambled, yummy.
Fried Egg on Toast is my personal favourite, usually have that each night. (that or boiled, then sliced)

My sisters and I checked this out a long time ago, she was a lacto/ovo, anyway if the whole egg is eaten then the lethicin softens the fats and they are not harmful.... eating the whole food is better than ..say, the whites only. That way all of the "stuff" you need to absorb it correctly would be in the food.

By the way lethicin is used in keeping chocolate soft.

It's found naturally in some body secretions that need to stay soft for a while!!!

Eat Organic eggs as well. Studies show that the vegetarian fed hens produce healthier eggs w/ better Omega3:6 fat ratios...

I eat at least 4/day. And I'm in perfect health.

eggs are only bad for you when they come from non-egg laying mamals.

wow, you people are really poised to eat this up, so to speak. it's amazing how a single publicized study can override decades of research and common sense. eggs are filled with cholesterol. only a third may come from diet, as the article states, but that's still a pretty huge difference when you compare two eggs (142% daily recommended value) with no animal products (0%). Not to mention the saturated fat found in animal products promotes the body to produce more of its own cholesterol.

interesting that they don't bother mentioning who funds these studies...
