It is smart to give children the tools to think. It's the old saying of teaching a man to fish is better than giving him one.

I'd like to order the book, then give an opinion...
but I think it's a good thing to finally start informing the children of what's going on...so that they know how to 'protect' themselves, if they are caught in the middle of divorce drama.
