Its bad enough the South is trying its best to destroy science, but now we have to deal with Current giving it the boot from the front page? What's happening to Current?!
For shame, sirs. For shame.

How does Movies have it's own section, but none for Science and Earth? Green is not considered earth... animals are not green related.

seriously, bring science and earth back!
There's got to be proper balance of rational thought to all of the artsy, humanity stuff that dominates current.
If you don't . . . I'll start posting NASA videos, I swear it!
Actually, I think I'll go see what NASA is up to these days.

Hey folks,
Thanks for your immediate feedback! Please believe me when I say that we recognize how important and relevant science is to Current! As Mario mentioned, we've been working on assessing how to continue to make sure that it has the kind of placement Current.com users want and need. Meanwhile, it is our hope that Green will hold the majority of the earth and science content: it's about looking at the earth and science through the lense of the times we live in, so will include components of sustainability, science, innovative tech, and yes...animals! -
"news, movies, music, green, gaming, tech, comedy, art and style" are the links on the top of the homepage. What are these doing on the top green banner, when each one of those topics is featured on the homepage anyway? If we have room for this redundancy, can't we make room for earth and/or science?
I still miss the last incarnation of Current.com, am I alone?

the face of current should be what voting is for and only that (#total vote vs ratio of Y/N votes etc..)
An ever changing Face governed by MATH.

"green" is cool, but it's specific. Earth and Science deserves it's own category to cover science that does not discuss environmental issues.

I don't understand why no one thought of just merging the gaming and tech boards into one and then using the free slot for the green section. Seriously how can a news site cover everything but science? Is the scientific community on strike or something? WTF
-
(reposting to where it was meant to be x_x )
The thing that really gets me is that "comedy" has a higher priority than Earth & Science . . .
Can I use a pun now to say how comical it is, or how this whole situation is laughable? No? okaaaaaay . . . .
But seriously,
Current is already highly tilted to the humanities.
Arts & Entertainment take up 5 categories here: music, movies, gaming, comedy, and art & style.
"News" is neutral.
"Tech" is basically just all the new gadgets and iJunk, not actual science.
"Green" is the SF Bay area view of science (I've lived there and worked in a Cole Hardware. I know the obsession with "Green" in that city)
But, there is SO much more to science than "green" technologies and you are really reducing the science community here down into a trendy version of a particular type of science that is palatable to the humanities.
It's evident that the people that run Current.com lean toward the humanities, and that's cool and everything, but some of us have brains that think differently. Some of us think in terms of pure logic and lean towards RAW science and mathematics.
We NEED a raw Science and Earth category. If for no other reason than to not marginalize that entire spectrum of thought. Otherwise, you are trending towards a homogeneous community that revolves around pop culture.
You should be trying to bring in more science/math people to keep the diversity of ideas up, not discourage them from participating.
So please stop discriminating against the math and science geeks. We need at least ONE category of our own.
Thank you.

Hey folks,
Thanks for your feedback. We read it. We take it in. We make action plans. We are working with our developers to bring back "science," but it will take some time to build the feature. Thanks for telling us how much it means to you, and stay tuned. -
Mako 2424:
Thank you. I agree with you wholeheartedly. We started here with substance and devolved into bubble gum news.
And how much time does it take to put back a relevant topic on the frontpage that was there just two days ago? Who makes these decisions?
