We haven't wanted to start locking the doors but it is getting more dangerous. We had a man come in recently saying that he needed money and didn't want to hurt anyone. The minister got the nasty job of handling that situation.
The biggest problem we have had recently is that a young black man started attending several months ago. He was welcomed with open arms. I mention that he is black, only because we have a nearly all white congregation.
We have several families that are biracial. When he attended everyone was warm and accepting of him. He told many of us that he had been in prison for 27 years. It was a little intimidating but we all wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. I told him that I had a son in prison and that I understood how hard it was to become integrated back into society.
