Don't do anything! But stand straight up as tall as you can and look the bastard straight in the eyes! Don't even move! The last ditch is to fall over and play dead! And hope and pray he doesn't nibble on you!
But if you've got somewhere to jump off and you've got the distance and the water to land in, I'd seriously consider that over being nibbled!

I've seen the documentary "Grizzly Man", so I've learned from the expert (timothy treadwell) exactly what to do; give it a name and talk to it like a toddler ("hello mr brownfur...would you like to eat some yummy fishes?"). Admittedly, he did get eaten by a bear in the end, but it worked for several years.
