British soldiers returning from Iraq face angry protests

Over 200 military personnel from the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Anglian Regiment marched with bagpipes through the English town just outside of London had their ceremony (organised by the local council) had the event interrupted by angry demonstrators with placards that read "Anglian Soldiers Go To Hell" and "Butchers of Basra".

People can be so aggravating. I don't have any problem with protesting the war to government, but leave the troops alone.

looks like a peacefull protest to me...
the only problem was narrow minded idiots starting trouble against a few protesters.
If i was in town then i would of joined the protesters, everybody has the right to be heard even if you dont like what they are saying.
If soliders came into your cuntry you would throw rocks and protest, basically if the boot was on the other foot, you would be protesting....

Jollye Olde England is once again stickin' it to the troops.Now, imagine if you will my friend, Bob Ritchie, U.S. Marine Corps, returning to the States after being in battle in Vietnam..seeing his friends killed by the VC..no parades....only being spit on, called a baby killer...and 40 years later, Bob is still affected by it.....God Help you, lady, holding your insulting placard....I hope there's a special place in Hell for you....Be proud, Anglian Soldiers, and hold your heads up high, you have the support of a former U.S. Navy "squid", even if you don't have the support of your own countrymen!
