What Happened to Current News?

I miss it so. I recently emailed Current, asking about CurrentNews,... and they replied;
"We temporarily suspended Current:News in order to make some changes and improvements to it, however, I don’t think Vicky will be reading off the news anymore. Here's a blog post about this if you want to read about it in more detail: http://current.com/items/89635853/current_com_release_changes_to_current_news.ht..."

So, it may return,... as a half-hour show,... with no robot,... and video entries.

I haven't been around in awhile either and, you know what? I'm not digging it either.

I totally miss the robot and comments from everyone and agree whole-heartedly with comments 1-3.

I too want current news back. I was especially pissed after they had taken it offline, because about a week later I posted an opinion piece I wrote about why liberals should fight gun control. Apparently someone on the current staff found it and said "Oh hey look, it's not ANOTHER story about legalizing marijauna" and decided to bump it to the top, because I got an email informing me that it was selected for the #1 spot. Alas, the story didn't get on TV because Current News was canceled. Grrr.

Yeah the older version is definitely better than the set-up we have now. I too miss the robotic voice and the comments that are chosen to be aired on TV.

Yeah, it is strange now. It was fluid before and now it seems stuck in some odd, clunky format. Thanks for bringing this to the forefront!

I think there should be more categories on the front page. This way, none of my really good blogs (the ones that would get to number one in the list) would make it to the top and at least get some exposure, because they don't really count as "news."

I think that maybe we should have a list of categories, and people can vote them up or down like they do posts. The top ten categories get on the home page.

On another issue, why is Current still in "beta"?

I believe the people @ Current got some ace up their sleeve. Or at least I hope sooo.... Current has created a great jewel of innovative modern media. Now the ideology has been established, the evolution of interactive web/TV design must be created. What that is, I'm not sure. But something mind-blowing, revolutionary, it must come from Current--their platform is much more socially advanced then traditional media. It just needs to blossom into something much greater.
One thing that well surely expedite progress is our voices being heard in forums like this.

has current news become corrupted or something? i feel as if any attempt to acquire information on my interests has been baracaded! I come to current once every two months now because i feel i get more current from the biased undemocratic, boring news. this used to me my passion and a sense of right. Now its as if current wants me to get dumber! RETURN TO ME ONCE AGAIN CURRENT!

Yeah, the whole appeal of current.com was the news list format. There was always several new stories posted every hour. I'd like to see it back. I can find this generic new layout on GoogleNews

yeah. i thought this channel was awesome like 3 months ago. now then have corporate sponsors[ i don't give a shit if your "let" your "viewers" make the commercial's ]

Now the website is just like every other news web site, where we whom are not the corps journalists vids don't make it to tv.
