I just got a my first DUI ticket last weekend. after consulting with a few lawyers and friend who works in the law firm. I am more confused than ever about the procedures of a DUI case. Almost all the lawyers say the same, "without knowning your alcohal level, we dont know our chances of winning"
but all of them want to charge me $3000 just to take the case and an additional $3000 to go to trial (if we need to). my paralegal friends tells me that the 1st $3000 is just to sucker me into hiring them. And they are not going to do anything but go to trial.

My best friends son had a DUI it cost him about $9000 plus he had to go to meetings for a year, lost his license for a year and won't even hold my beer in his own house.
