Hmm, I guess it would be slightly more interesting that sitting through some of the lectures I had to sit through at uni. But how distracting would it be? Will they be taking an interactive register? Wouldn't it just be easy to log in, walk off and leave the thing running while you crawl back into bed?

Or nip across the Midlands and set up camp at Birmingham City Uni, they're offering a Masters degree in 'Social Media' and all for the tidy sum of nearly £5k.
Would you pay it?

The college where I work is starting to consider using Second Life as a learning environment. I logged into SL for the first time about a month ago. I don't think it is a very effective learning tool.

My first piece to air on Current was in 2006 and explored the world of Second Life...Check it out here:
http://www.propadatafilms.com/catalog/posts/second-life-world/While I believed SL or worlds like it would have exploded Facebook style by now, it has seemed like the party is over last few times I logged in.
I do still think there are great studies and opportunities for new interactivity in the learning environment in SL, even if it hasn't taken off as an awesome cool place to hang out.
Now, mozilla's 3D web browser? They sound like they'll take the groundwork SL laid and make something people actually use.
