my friends Mike n Peggy's house, i love this...
seen them on all kinds of media, airplane mags, travelzenes, discovery channel...
if it makes it to air on Current, i'd be flabbergastedly pleased as hell.
just finished the last of the interior last fall, Mikes birthday, this would finish the job~
THX & enjoy,

Wow!
I've been a carpenter for 10 years now, and I've built a lot of houses, small simple homes to million dollar plus houses, and I have to say this is one of the coolest structures I've ever seen! This wasn't an easy task, and the engineering that goes into tying a house into a tree takes a lot of calculating and good ol' carpentry skill.
I have to disagree with covelogibbs. I think it is a very interesting story that should make it on Current no matter how long it is, but that's just my opinion.
Awesome video, MakaiOhana!

I think "Building the worlds largest treehouse" should be on Current TV and I Voted it up.
I meant to convey that I would be disappointed if this POD didn't make it to air simply because it was too long. I enjoyed it as is enough to vote it up and I agree with blamblaw that "it is a very interesting story that should make it on Current no matter how long it is." :)

As a builder I found this fascinating and the full show sounds like it would be even better. At 12:33, this is probably too long to make it onto Current TV. If it were condensed down to a shorter version, it would stand a better chance. Just about every shot was interesting, so trimming would be tough. The only things that come immediately to mind are the duplicate shots in the beginning ("Ian") and possibly some of the "dark" shots. There may have been other duplicate shots farther in, but I was pretty engrossed and nothing stood out to me.
I really enjoyed this. This felt almost stream of consciousness, and somehow minimalist even though it runs over twelve minutes. I would be interested in some more about the vision leading to this project and my mind wants more details. Will the tree continue to grow? If so, how will the tree house remain in place? Could a similar house have been built without the tree? What does the finished interior look like? Etc, etc, etc.........
Thanks for sharing, greenlight from me.

Thank you for watching and such a thorough critique. I really appreciate it! I just visited Michael two weeks ago and the interior is finished, decorated, they are 'moved in' so yes... I do need to go back and get some interior shots.... did not want to do it while I was there as it was very 'lived in' at the moment and they were not anticipating me filming at that time.
Again, thank you for the response. - 10 months ago

details, hmmmm, first, the 'tree' is dead, was from the get, it's the central pillar actually, domestic import, needed to utilize the site, the other pillars are mostly all live trees, you can see stills at:http://treehouses.com/michaels%20ultimate.html
the live trees do continue to grow, quite well thx, it's takin in considering the engineering & plans, movable joins were created.
YES a similar can be built either on stilts, live or dea, or even on the ground, but that wouldn't be near as fun.
as for the finished interior, i'll work on getting some shots up on treehouses.com, it's real nice n cozy yet open n airy, amazing place to hang out... - 10 months ago
