I've just searched on information about Salvia, and according to Wikipedia, there are about 700-900 species exist (the link has the full list).
Thank goodness I'm staying clean...

Done this stuff in the privacy of my own home- not something to play around with.
But making it illegal will drive usage up as well as demand for something that hasn't yet hit a black market.
Just regulate the damn stuff. Videos don't mean shit. Have there been any deaths, overdoses or direct accidents or fatalities attributed? I bet not. Don't feed the fear, just be careful with it.

As a sober Addict this scares me. The youth of today are getting stronger drug and more danders consoquences. Whats death rate of youth because of drugs? I thinks it's worse then we know.

Well I have read extensively on this drug and from what I can tell it is relatively harmless outside of the fact that many people tend to describe the experience as far to intense.
The effects are sort term (15 -20 minutes) from what I understand so I do not see the major issue here.
Not good for kids to engage in any drugs or alcohol but this one ranks low on my radar so far.

Okay i've done salvia plenty of times, and have enjoyed every trip. I don't understand why people are afriad of people drving on it, mostly because you can not drive. Seriously. like most of the clips shown in this cast you stay in one place. even when he was in a car, in a video called "driving on Salvia", he did not once touch his keys or even think about driving. This drug, unlike others in my experience, makes you want to stay in one place and not move.

Salvia has never done anything for me any time i tried it, except leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Prohibition doesnt work. If we make this illegal we are only opening another black market for criminals to thrive on.
BANNING DOES NOT WORK! History has proven this time and time again.
-
the dude who is satirizing it is a douchebag. he's only polarizing the effect and perception of it, he's doing it inaccurately.
-
Salvia is lame. Anyone who has tried it knows it sucks. I came across some stuff called " Zo Hai". Now that stuff is cool.

Salvia is a very powerful drug. I've used it 10-20 times and have learned all i need to from the drug. It is definitely mind-blowing when smoked or ingested correctly.
I am saddened by the current legislation to ban the plant. It does pose a threat ( being under the influence leaves your motor skills inoperable), but its a spiritual drug used by Native Americans for a long while now. I don't think states are doing the right thing by banning it, especially since their is no scientific evidence to support the ban.

Salvia is interesting. The active substance in it is very similar to one of the substances the brain naturally produces while dreaming.
I have found smoking salvia to be very enjoyable... As long as it is done properly, safely, and responsibly. In my personal experience, it caused me to relive various moments from my life in brief intervals, along with abstract imagery, though it doesn't have the same effect for everyone. I like it, but it's not something I'd do frequently.
A lot of the people in those videos were using too much or were just not relaxed. You really do have to be relaxed and in a peaceful environment to enjoy it, and only start with small doses. Otherwise, yeah, you might have a bad trip.
It makes me sad that there is legislation moving against it, but not because I'd miss using it. Rather, it just shows, again, how arrogant legislators are... Oh, well.
...On the other hand, I doubt there would be much black market for it. It is pretty intense, really.

It'll get expensive lasting only 5 minutes and experience with it in Hawaii was closer to 2 minutes. Feels like the walls are pulsing in, drapes and lines become non-perpendicular, totally uncontrollable laughter, limbs and digits want to shoot out. Its an acute acid trip and don't recommend trying indoors. So yes, that can be frightening to many people but the medical implications are vast. Very interesting that it targets only one specific receptor in the brain.

I've never heard of salvia before, but now I'm going to search youtube for these videos :)

I watched a video called lovely lovely beer with some friends one night on youtube. It's a compilation of drunk people getting hurt and being completely wasted in public. Then I watched the salvia videos and it's just people sitting at home laughing and acting goofey. Now I'm going to be told that I can go to jail (much more harmful to your health then salvia) because I possess salvia.
They make plants illegal to possess but there's still chemicals and hormones in our foods as long as it's regulated by the FDA I guess we can trust it. The government is the most powerful mafia in the world.
There's still a long list of drugs that are not illegal yet that are pretty powerful if anyone is in the know.
It doesn't make a difference to me if it's illegal, many other things are.

Yes, making something illegal is the right way to go about stopping this madness. After all, we've all seen how well it's worked for marijuana, crack, and crystal meth thus far, right?

America should ban everything that can alter your consciousness! Nicotine, caffeine, ethanol, sugar, oxygen.......etc.etc.
The only time anyone should ever have an out of body experience is when they die and ride their magic chariot up to see Jesus.
Anything else is from the devil!

If you want to try it be carefull, especially if you are not experienced with hallucenogenics. Salvia is very very potent and can cause very very vivid visuals and feelings.

My female friend apparently tried it. She says it sucks.
Light up boys and girls. Enjoy it before the federal government adds it to their war on drugs.

Why must a few idiots on youtube ruin for people that might actually get some good out of the drug.
All drugs have side effects, and have their good effects.
Making it illegal will just make these same idiots take the drug and keep it from people who could actually use it!
