I hate corporate news....

But not as much as i detest our congress and supreme court.

The problem is where was the outraged monotoned mop when we where were lied into an unjustified war or when the Constitution was being trampled? Why didn't this protest start right after the Enron collapse or when we first found out about torturing prisoners at Abu Graib?

I suppose when people are somewhat happy, have food, entertainment, and booze, then they are a lot more likely to let things pass by and assume their representatives have their best interests in mind. The reason we start to see grass roots traction now, is because most people are not concerned until the crisis affects them directly, like with their money.

Wait...I don't understand. I watched the entire clip, what I saw was 1 (ONE) woman who had a reasonable argument (well, as reasonable as claiming that we have no voice when voting, at least to some degree, is supposed to be a voice). Everyone else looked fairly "anti-Obama", confused over some aspects of Lincoln, even potentially racist.

So, what point was I supposed to take away from this? That CNN doesn't broadcast all possible news? How would that even be possible?

i see where these people are coming from. but my argument is why the hell did they not vote for ron paul. they were mostly conservatives. and ron paul is right down the ally of what these people are protesting about, but when it came down to it... they had McCain and Palin. so yes you have a right to protest whats going on, but honestly, how about you vote for the issues you seem to care about next time, not just issues you're told are important. you are being taxed, but you also have representation, use it.

The lady that got on the reporter's case after the cameras were off claimed that the people coverage wasn't showing the average person.

My take? I saw the CNN reporter covering some lunatics that didn't know what they were talking about. Then, some other lunatics that don't know what they were talking about got mad at the reporter for not showing both sides. I only saw a whole bunch of lunatics that don't know what they're talking about in both cases.

Do these people not want publicly funded schools, roads, water works, waste water treatment, and their precious defense? Get real.

Thank god I'm Canadian. Think of how much more in tax I pay than my American counterparts!

Where were all the "teabaggers" when Bush and the Republicans controlled Congress doubled our national debt?? As I remember it, if you questioned the actions of the Bush Administration, you were automatically labeled an "unpatriotic liberal who hated the troops." The Bush era tab makes the Stimulus Package look like a fart in a tornado.

I find the argument of, "Where were they when Bush was in office" as kind of lacking. Do you people have no concept of social workings? It takes time for a large enough group of people to be affected to the point of protest. These people are not protesting the fact that Obama is president or that Democrats are in office. They are protesting against the direction our country is taking. Many of these grievances began during the Bush era and are now being acted upon.

These things do not happen instantly. In fact, it happening so early in Obama's presidency should be seen as a sign that the grievances are less against him and more against the massive spending. Stop trying to address this as a Democrat vs. Republican concept. You're showing a complete lack of any attempt at understanding.

To write others off as "lunatics" because you do not understand their position does very little to help the situation. Perhaps if you took the time to try to, at least, understand their position to find solutions that are palatable to both side, I would be less inclined to to suggest your own position to be obstructionist, lacking critical thought, and lemming-like.

If my position is one of a "lunatic", please at least explain your position. I'd love to know your rational behind such labelling. I am one of the people you think are so stupid in disagreeing with massive taxation in this country. I'd say the people of France and England have seen massive protests of their own and are rather socialist.

I just don't want to see this country's people become completely dependent on anything beyond themselves. I think the integration of public services and capitalist characteristics need to be done far more deliberately and in a far more coordinated nature than we currently see if it is to be done at all. I really believe Capitalism is a far more transparent and liberating economic system than socialism. Unfortunately, to explain that position would require a little more time and effort than I care to spend on this post, but if you wish to enter dialogue about such things, I'd be glad to do so.

Just my two cents.

Surely everybody knows by now that almost EVERY business in the United States is a corporation, right? I mean, even Mom and Pop stores incorporate for liability and tax reasons. A business does not become evil simply by incorporating. It becomes evil when the people who direct it start to believe that it has an existence apart from and unrelated to the human beings who own it and work for it. When a member of the Board of Directors actually BELIEVES that he or she can say, "Hey, that toxic waste dump isn't MY fault; the CORPORATION did it" -- that is when things turn to shit in a big way...

I am sick and tired of hearing about how "the people" did not get to vote on the taxes or how the money is being spent. I am here to tell you that you do get to have a vote. You vote on your Representatives and Senators. If you don't like what is going on then rally behind someone that you want that will change the system. We have clearly seen that you can rally behind a protest so you should be more than able to rally behind someone you want elected.

So please stop with all this whinning about not having and representation or being heard.

I hate the corporate news as much as the next guy, but half of the people in this crowd don't even know what they are protesting.

Listen to them, even the founding bloggers rep. was talking out of her ass. Protesting taxes, are any of the protesters in that crowd making over 250,000 a year? I don't think so...

Why is it that Americans care so much about our money- so much so that we take to the streets and waste perfectly good tea - but the most fundamental human tragedies, such as innocent children living every day in fear and bloodshed, goes so unnoticed?

The event in the story is going to be a powerful and possibly history-making occasion.

Doesnt anyone notice that people WERE protesting the bank's getting money to wipe their arse before fox news suddenly wanted to take it under their wing? This is a serious issue that is becoming a mockery just because some idiots seem to jump on the bandwagon does not make it any less legit. When the bankers threaten obama to give them money or they'll make the system fail thats a criminal act. Theres no reason why people shouldnt protest Obama with the continued and increasing war on terror/pirates, Continued torture in Gitmo/Secret American prisons just discovered, continued spying on american citizens without warrant and CIA kidnapping without probable cause.

These things are right here on this website to find and people still follow blindly? What is with you people, turn off the TV and wake up!
