I have no doubt this family actually lives this way; however, it’s unfortunate that Hollywood has chosen to perpetuate the myth that all West Virginians are ignorant and trash. I am a lifelong resident of West Virginia, and I have never met people such as those portrayed in this movie. I would venture to say that in any rural part of this country one could find similar individuals, they are not unique to this state. I’ve never been a fan of Knoxville’s toilet humor, this is just another example of the uncreative trash that Hollywood continues to spew.

why would someone automatically believe that all west virginians are like that? seriously? in the ad it shows other completely normal west virginians. this movie is about the family, not the state
