Her work, created as part of her drawing and image making course at the university, creates the illusion that the car is see through.
She was given the car from a breakers yard and worked for three weeks to ensure that it blended perfectly with its surroundings.
"I was experimenting with the whole concept of illusion but needed something a bit more physical to make a real impact." said Miss Watson, who is from Ashton under Lyne.
"People have been stopping in the street to look and coming up and almost bumping into it, so it's had the desired effect."

Congrats on using a car instead of doing the standard 20+ year old stereotypical body paint nude.
Sadly the 20+ year old stereotype of art school chicks and eye makeup continues forward.

That's really cool! But people almost bump into it? That doesn't make any sense... it only appears "invisible" from the EXACT angle in this photo, not from anywhere else. The project is totally awesome, I love it, but that quote is a bit dumb.

art inaction. lols sounds cool. i dunno why i don't document some of the things that are beginning to go on around here. gotta get to it. time too get ta busy.

great job on painting that car.
its a shame they couldnt find the guy who mugged her with the ugly stick -
Isn't that a Chrysler?
-
I always want to look at art pieces like this from another angle, just to rubbish the concept. Saying that however, I do admire the work that goes into creating such pieces.. I just have that photographer's killer instinct to move around. It can't be helped, but so long as the perspective is right, it works really well.
