Top five games from my point of view.. and my point of view is LAMESAUCE

First of Mr. EPIC podcast host, I would like to say congrats on the job and from the looks of it so far so good! But on to the meat of this sandwich (the ONLY important part), I will have to show my hand early in the fact that I am not the most hardcore of gamers. To show my "green," I have only played ONE game out of your entire top five and that is MGS 2. So your choices could be fantastic? I have no idea at the moment, but what it does do is give me a good perspective of what I should play next (and since I just picked up The Orange Box, I think I can give Half Life 2 a try!!).

But on to my pics. These may sound absurd, but these are the games that I would consider the most noteworthy in my history as a gamer (and person). In no particular order...

- Super Return of the Jedi (SNES)

While i could say the original Super Mario Brothers was my first true love in terms of games, this wins out. I remember distinctly walking in on my uncle playing this game in first grade, not knowing what Star Wars even was. Later that year Santa gave me the same thing (go figure). I absolutely fell in love with the game, playing it for hours on end, which is when i a) became a gamer for life and b) became a star wars fan. and believe me... i am a HUGE star wars fan (funny side note.. finishing the game made me wanna start getting into Star Wars, so i went to rent a movie at Blockbuster... Return of the Jedi. I was so lost! I literally watched the original trilogy backwards, giving me an interesting perspective)

- Metal Gear Solid 2 (PS2)

I don't mean to steal. But I had Nintendo my whole life (NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, and multiple iterations of Game Boys), so when my sister showed interest in wanting a system I got excited. i remembered the articles from EGM I read about MGS2 and how awesome it looked, and the moment she bought the system I went to Gamestop (EB at the time) and bought the game. I played that sucker through and through, getting every dogtag for EVERY difficulty level (and now since I bought the Essential Collection, I can try out European Extreme. WOAH!)

- Resident Evil Remake (Gamecube)

Like I mentioned before, All I had was Nintendo growing up. Therefore no Resident Evil for me. And then in 8th grade a remake was in the works, sporting the best graphics I had seen at the time. For my birthday i preordered it, and had an overnighter with several guys to test it out. And i will say.. i jumped when the dogs jumped through the windows haha. I will have to say this is the one CONSOLE game i have spent the most time on perfecting. So much so, I successfully beat the game 100%, even beating it in under 3 hours to receive the rocket launcher. Still don't know how i Pulled that one off...

- Star Wars Rogue Squadron/Rogue Leader (N64/Gamecube)

Yes I know. Star Wars again. But it is what made my N64 a worthy purchase (had Shadows of the Empire months before i even had the system, and when i finally was able to play it i was disappointed), as well as what sold me on the Gamecube. Rogue Leader was one of the better launch games I have played, and I will still go back to it with my little cousin (this being the co-op version of it in Rebel Strike, the only positive part of that game).

- Halo

Haha this one cracks me up. I vividly remember in Junior high my Nintendo fanboy rage when kids were saying how good the Xbox was going to be. I thought they were insane! Bill Gates was trying to squeeze even MORE money from the worldwide economy (maybe that's where it all is now.. hmm). So i stuck to my gun, never showing any interest to the system. Then that epic EGM came out. The Halo 2 cover story issue, which was MASSIVE, had me sold on the cool factor of Halo. But i still was not convinced, even after my Gamecube well had run dry. But then E3 2006 showed a trailer with in-game graphics, of a barren wasteland narrated by some blue chick... and then Master Chief was shown. The 360 was bought shortly after:)
