Now to a different subject. This is to feature 'Community members' Correct? So far in the past 5-6 weeks I have only seen 'Curators' - why not feature a Community Member maybe somebody who contributes and participates because of the fun of it? I am certainly NOT looking to be featured and would decline but I think you are really not doing the Current Community at large any favors by only featuring the select few that have been selected as forum curators (not that they don't deserve every bit of attention) I see tons of good clips from 'regular' contributors, surely they contribute to make up your community !?

I sooo should have checked my spelling and grammar before I sent that in. Well, on another note, check out the plan Delia and I have put together for a current meetup in NYC!

How do we pick a member of the week? Oops that's right we dont. Like all of the featured stories it is current staff that decide what we see. For some interesting thinking research the comparative methods and evolution of sites such as Wikipedia and Digg on who actually has the power to affect content and how that compares to Current.

If you dont like my opinion then shove it.

Current is all about Community. Current Staff are picking the member of the week based on who is consistent, active and interesting in the online community (At least I think so!)

If anything, Current is moving more towards user influenced content - these channels that we are curating are a beta test who's goal is to open it up to everyone. While the featured stories on the main topics are picked by staff, the regular flow of stories on all topic pages are decided by the users and the user-curators get to feature their own stories.

Personally I think Digg is very annoying. I haven't found any news/social media site that compares to Current when it comes to user submitted stories, user created content and user based discussion. You still very much have "power" to affect the content you see on Current.

I think that if you dont find current to be biased then its because the bias fits with your personal views or beliefs. Bias in how stories are featured is evident everywhere and certain viewpoints are coddled and promoted. There seems to be a distinct effort to obscure the identity and working relationships of Current Staff and structure. Some good examples are the Palestinian conflict and Pot legalization. @delia would you like some examples of the touted contributors and their stories/comments/hate speech that seem to be protected here on Current?

Highroller and vietrotchka are a couple of good ones. V is slightly more subtle but Highroller is a good example of pure propaganda. The removal of Kuffar is another good example of bias at work.

Strange enough, I don't remember any articles or comments by him. I need to add him.

@mike. For someone who is anrgy at current for not letting us choose the feature community member and who has been a part of this for awhile, you should know better that sending feedback is best way to tell them about this. But really, you don't like Current for being liberal and not as effective as Digg but you've reach level 3 in commenting?

@anyone. WTF happen since I've gone for a month? What's this thing about "Curators?" please message me, that will helpful.
