Kendrick takes two state track titles

TravG73
There's only one way Stormy Kendrick could imagine her high school track career ending: As state champion.

The Forestview senior doubled at the NCHSAA 3A state track and field championships, winning the 100 and 200 meters Saturday at N.C. A&T State University.

Kendrick, headed for Clemson this summer, had taken the silver medal in both events last year and was determined not to let that happen again. She turned in the top preliminary times in both events and didn't let up in the finals.

Saturday's performance gave Kendrick five NCHSAA state titles. She won the 100 meters at the 3A meet as a sophomore and also has a pair of NCHSAA indoor state titles under belt, having won the 55 meters at the Class 1A/2A/3A her last two years.
