On Monday night’s “Gossip Girl” season finale, Chuck finally told Blair he loves her. While the gesture was nice (he collected her favorite macaroons and stockings from Europe), the words slightly missed the mark. He didn’t say, “I love you.” He said, “I love you, too.”
You might say, “You’re splitting hairs! There’s no difference!” But I beg to differ. Adding the “too” is fine every once in a while, but definitely not the first time someone says it. The “too” takes the emphasis off how they feel about you, and reinforces how you feel about them. Follow the link for other no-nos when you’re saying those three words.
