The Peruvian government Saturday authorized the intervention of the armed forces in the Amazon in response to indigenous protests against government policy and new decrees
aimed at opening up the Amazon to oil, mining. logging and agricultural companies without consulting indigenous peoples. Video and photo evidence show police beating peaceful protesters and firing rubber bullets in order to break up demonstrations blocking roads and bridges.
Qorianka Kilcher with her supporters yesterday here in Los Angeles organized peaceful Demonstration. Finely media pay more attention to the urgent issue of the current indigenous peoples protests in Peru.
