Reporter dragged kicking and screaming from near Air Force One

The AP's Christina Hoag reports that Brenda Lee, a reporter for the Georgia Informer, was dragged kicking and screaming from the press area near Air Force One at Los Angeles International airport (LAX) Thursday morning.

"Airport security officers carried the woman away by the feet and arms as she protested her removal," Hoag writes.

The Georgia Informer describes itself as "a black newspaper for Georgia."

KTLA reports that Lee is a self-proclaimed "Roman Catholic priestess." Lee claims she was attempting to deliver President Obama a letter urging him "to take a stand for traditional marriage."

The AP reports from its interview with Lee:

even Gay people had to get here from a heterosexual couple having a sexual encounter...so why would they deny their own creation by trying to get married to their same sex? It is an absolute retardation of their minds...

That woman is a deluded idiot.

It never ceases to amaze me that people feel so compelled to worry over other people's business.

If you spent more time tending to your own you would not have time to worry about theirs.

For a second I thought that was Obama and Stedman hauling Oprah's limp body off in that pic.

We're judging this girl too harshly. And I question this press coverage. I mean you had the incident followed by an interview. The story points out two things, which were maybe a little out of the ordinary. She claimed she was a Catholic priestess, and her statement she was afraid people could see under her clothes. These are both concerns we attribute to religious nuts. This article leads you to draw your own conclusion that she was a religious nut.

Maybe she is. Maybe she's not. But the inclusion in the article leads you to think so, doesn't it? It may be not be true. I doubt the interview consisted of 2 questions. And I suggest the other questions, and their answers, wouldn't draw many readers. And drawing readers, after all, is the intent of public journalism. Even if they have to stretch a bit; or edit a bit.

What we do know is that the girl was trying to deliver a personal message to the president and was using her credentials to gain the opportunity. So be it. The job of the secret service is to prevent things like this happening. Some of these yazoo's have guns.

So the Secret Service was effective in doing their job. This girl was hauled off, but not harmed, and then released. No harm - no foul. Who are we to judge?

I think if this had happened...oh wait! It did happen when Bush was president and there was an uproar regarding freedom of speech.

The question should be, why is my EMPLOYEE (Obama, Bush) unapproachable by their EMPLOYERS?

ironic how recently oppressed people, in this case blacks, are so quick to oppress others...another example would be the state of israel's treatment of palestinians...

This is honestly ridiculous, woman- we have a postal service for delivering messages, or better yet I'm sure Obama has a twitter you could hit him up on, I know the white house has a facebook... but hey, thanks for a good laugh... I'm still waiting to see youtube footage, or at least some half-par reenactment

See what they do to you if you try to get Obama to open a new investigation into 911. Or try to get him to comment on why he is backpeddling on all of his damn campaign promises!

    Where's the change anointed one?

You hypocrites. If this same woman were protesting the war, she would be a good American doing her civic duty.
    and @ slarabeet
"never ceases to amaze me that people feel so compelled to worry over other people's business.

Pot calling the kettle black. You submit god knows how many stories a day, and criticize based on your political belief. Why don't you follow your own advice.

ahh cmdinc good to hear from you again.

You are comparing apples and oranges.

It amazes me that the very same people who bitch and scream for the government to stay out of our lives are the people that want the government to restrict our rights that they think offend god.

I do not oppose any of our rights.

I support freedom of speech. The right to bear arms. The freedom to put what we want into our bodies with out government interference. Pro Choice. I support dissent. Freedom of religion (so long as it is kept separate from our government). Gay marriage. Equality. Equal pay for equal work. You know good old common sense.

I will keep my common sense and you can keep your god. Worship if you wish just don't bother me with it and I wont bother you with common sense. You can dance with snakes in the name of god for all I care.

It is you and you ilk that are extreme and are so worried about what other are doing.

Ahh but I waste my breath.

Thank you for the warm welcome slarabee, much appreciated. I am sure it was not in jest. I never defended the womens actions, i simply stated if the table was turned she would be a hero.

wow lets start with what we agree on:
    Freedom of speech
    the right to bear arms
    freedom of religion

Notice anything....all the above are in our constitution. None of the rest of your points are and we disagree slightly on some.

I believe there is a God, i do not scream repent if you do not, that is your choice. again you classify people through Liberal glasses,

lol can't we all just get along

Why would she think she could get anywhere near the president?
Maybe she thought because she's black?
Secret service doesn't care what color you are, they're going to stop anyone that tries to get close to him.

Good point Slarabee.....it is hypocritical that the same group that says government is too involved turns around and says that the government should tell women what to do with their bodies and tell people who they can and cannot marry. Religion is a twisted beast. If these people need their religion I have no problem with that but when their beliefs dictate to me how to live my life that is where I draw the line. I am not gay and my wife would likely never get an abortion, but these are personal choices. These people should learn to keep their religion to themselves and quit pushing it on the rest of us.

    @cmdinc

So by your own admission the argument is over a word.

The Christians do not own the rights to the term marriage.

    mar⋅riage

    –noun
    1. the social institution under which a man and woman establish their decision to live as husband and wife by legal commitments, religious ceremonies, etc.
    2. the state, condition, or relationship of being married; wedlock: a happy marriage.
    3. the legal or religious ceremony that formalizes the decision of a man and woman to live as husband and wife, including the accompanying social festivities: to officiate at a marriage.
    4. a relationship in which two people have pledged themselves to each other in the manner of a husband and wife, without legal sanction: trial marriage; homosexual marriage.
    5. any close or intimate association or union: the marriage of words and music in a hit song.
    6. a formal agreement between two companies or enterprises to combine operations, resources, etc., for mutual benefit; merger.
    7. a blending or matching of different elements or components: The new lipstick is a beautiful marriage of fragrance and texture.
    8. Cards. a meld of the king and queen of a suit, as in pinochle. Compare royal marriage.
    9. a piece of antique furniture assembled from components of two or more authentic pieces.
    10. Obsolete. the formal declaration or contract by which act a man and a woman join in wedlock.

At the end of the day the arguments against gay marriage are just cover for bigotry wrapped in the robes of Jesus. Period. You are wrong and you know it whether you a man enough to admit it or not.
