Israel threatens to close its only Jewish-Arab public school.
The Weizmann School in central Jaffa is the only school in Israel with a mixed Arab-Jewish student body. It has about 350 students, from preschool to sixth grade, with roughly equal number of Arabs and Jews, and serves a relatively poor section of the city. Parents and teachers at the school fear the school will shut down due to lack of support from the Tel Aviv municipality. The municipality and the Ministry of Education deny this, but they refuse to confirm that it will continue beyond the next school year.
Some comments from teachers: "This is a unique model, which can and should be emulated in other schools." "The policy of City Hall is to have no policy." "It will kill any attempt in the future to create integrated education."
The result of this uncertainty is the loss of Jewish pupils whose parents fear that the school might close.

Once again, totally innacurate, there are many many schools of mixed race, in fact not one school excludes "Arab,' children based on race, what a lie! There are several kibutzes of mixed race with educational peace programs too and every city has people of all races. I hope people don't really believe this utter nonsense.

It is often said that Israel is the ‘only Democracy in the Middle East’. Apparently this is true….. if you are an Israeli soldier on a mission to kill.
Yesterday, at the ongoing weekly demonstration against the wall of apartheid in the occupied Palestinian town of Bil’in, a Palestinian protester was killed while speaking to a group of Israeli soldiers. The man was unarmed, the man was not a terrorist…. but he WAS a Palestinian. THIS ALONE is a crime in this Democratic wonderland.

Is this the ‘Change’ President Obama speaks of? Is this the solution his representative George Mitchell speaks of when he calls for the creation of a Palestinian State? Does he envision a Palestine without Palestinians as the Israeli government obviously does?
On Monday in Durban, apartheid will be both discussed and condemned by the righteous leaders of the world. It will be interesting to see who will NOT be there….. Just how long will this be allowed to continue?

Apartheid excluded non-whites from parliament, Arabs are not banned from the Knesset. In apartheid South Africa whites and non-whites had to use different public toilets, different public park benches and portions of buses. Tell me where you see this in Tel Aviv? -
