    • Citizen Kane isn't my fav, but I understand why it is for so many historians. It's essentially the first mainstream indie. The storytelling, and the story itself are equally compelling. I enjoyed watching it years ago, b4 learning the history about the film, & all its technical achievements; but listening to Roger Ebert's DVD commentary really enhanced my appreciation; as did the doc "The Battle Over Citizen Kane"

    • Yay! Phew! Some one came out of the closet about "Citizen Kane" not being the greatest American movie! Although, he stopped short of crowning my fave - "Xanadu" - with that title.
