RNC Chairman Michael Steele isn't shying away from highlighting race as a signifying issue of the Sonia Sotomayor Supreme Court nomination hearings.

In an interview with CNN's Campbell Brown on Tuesday, the Republican Party leader insisted that white males would not be granted even-handed jurisprudence under a Court with Obama's nominee.

"God help you if you're a white male," said Steele. "If you're seeking justice, this may not be the bench you want to go before."

      *Someone* needs to watch out for the beleaguered and oppressed white males in this country.

      I dream of the day when a white male finally runs a Fortune 500 company or presides over a major university or sits as Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court. Until that day, we must struggle for the rights that have for too long been denied to white, American males. Where is their rose garden? Huh?

      God forbid a white man stand up and proclaim they have any type of pride in themselves. Theres all types of other national pride.......black, brown, native, yellow and so on but god forbid a white man proclaim " WHITE PRIDE"....Well I do, on a daily basis at that, and fuck anyone who doesn't like it

      I don't understand pride in being white (or any other color). It's like being proud to be 5'8"... or proud to have a beauty mark on your left shoulder, or proud to be lactose intolerant. Being proud of something that is an accident of birth doesn't make sense. Save pride for actual accomplishments.

    • White men were not granted any even handed objection to Barack Obama, you were simply a racist if you didn't agree with him. I don't know why that trend would stop. There is no way a white male was ever considered for this job, and no way a white male's point of view won't be taken with disgression when she gets the job. White males are the new evil of The United States of America. It is our fault of every single bad thing that has ever happened. And Heaven forgive we dare speak up to defend ourselves!

      First of all what the hell are you talking about. There are more than enough white males on the SCOTUS already. Secondly This post is not about a white man speaking up for white men. It is about a black man engaging in BS race bating. Lastly I guess us white men can start to worry on the day we begin to be targeted by the police with racial profiling. Truth is most of the thing that I would point to that bother me about discrimination that affect me affect men of all colors so it is a non-issue.

      Well Slarabee, I guess it's time to start worrying then because I can tell you from experiance that I get harrassed by the cops everytime I get pulled over because of the way I look. It may not be racial profiling but harrassing me because I look like a certain type of "white guy" that might cause problems is profiling me and is just as bad. It has been happening to me for years.

      you know what's really funny, most of the problems in the world HAVE been created by white men, though not necessarily americans.

      think back to all the major catastrophes (wars, genocides, etc) over the past 2 centures. chances are a white man is behind it.

      god just think of all the shit the british empire is still causing to this day (like say, iraq)

      I thought only the privileged white man was unable to accept that a woman of color would have different life experiences than him (and so would OF COURSE be able to relate better to people of color in legal cases and make a more informed decision).
