Michael Moore's next target: Wall Street

Image...
"The movie is not going to be an economics lesson; it's going to be more like a vampire movie," the filmmaker jokes. "Instead of the main characters feasting on the blood of their victims, they feast on the money. And they never seem to get enough of it."

"If you go to see my movies, even if you don't agree with everything in the movies, you're going to have a good laugh," Moore says. "I want them to walk out at the end saying 'Wow, that was something!' And in this case, maybe they also walk out asking the ushers, 'Um, excuse me. Where are the pitchforks and torches?' "

I can't wait, and maybe even some of the right wingers who have been ripped off by wall street will fall in love with Michaels work.

Sorry to be the downer here but none of you think that Michael Moore is kind of a douchebag?

I mean, I understand where he is coming from and I'm happy to have some good, controversial media ask questions and get people talking, but I'm just not that impressed with Moore's methods. Something rubbed me wrong during Bowling for Columbine where I thought to myself Hey, Michael Moore is a pretty self important, obnoxious guy.

Moore is like the ultimate ice cream bowl. You think it's good, but then you have a little too much and just puke everywhere.

He is a douche and it is effective! He will lay it down like Bowling for Columbine and Sicko!

Here was my major problem in Bowling for Columbine- he goes on and on about how we shouldn't point fingers of blame at specific people in situations- in the Columbine case, particularly Marylin Mason. I agree with that; it's ridiculous to hold one person responsible or make them into some kind of symbol of "whats wrong" with America.

However, Moore then proceeds to run over to Charlton Heston's house and do EXACTLY THAT. No sir, I don't like hypocrisy even if it's liberal hypocrisy.

Then, there is the KMart scene. Making those workers feel like d-bags just because they work at KMart is pretty ridiculous- and what did Moore accomplish? KMart stopped selling weapons/ammo. What did THAT accomplish? WALMART becomes the biggest mainstream marketer of those products. Sorry, but I call that a FAIL!

I didn't get a chance to see Sicko, is it worth it?

It's worth it Delia, but I think he just brings in as much different stuff into his movie's to overwhelm us with what ifs.

BFC was okay, until he was talking about nukes/big ass weapons getting moved around on I-25 every night. I've been on that road every night for the past like 8 months anywhere from 11-5, never have I seen the "Ghost fleet" or whatever he calls it.

I find most of Michael Moore's work very frustrating. He clearly has a great deal of talent, and he facilitates the distribution of important information in our society. But I have always felt that the best theses are those that survive the crucible of having their greatest weaknesses exposed. So, for example, if single payer is a great idea (and I happen to think that it is), we should be able to look at the idea's greatest strengths, compare them to the idea's greatest weaknesses and still come away feeling that 1) the strengths clearly outweigh the weaknesses, and 2) we are reasonably well prepared for the negative consequences of implementing the idea.

I have always come away from seeing Mr. Moore's work feeling quite strongly that I was not given an adequate look/analysis of the "other side." If he simply lacked the intellectual capacity to recognize the other side and reveal it to his audience, that would be one thing. But I am quite certain that is not the case, so it makes me feel like he is being deliberately dishonest -- even where his underlying thesis is correct.

At least no one can ever accuse him of being guilty by omission.

Michael Moore doesn't really care how you feel about him. He's always going to take on the toughest jobs.Nobody ever wants to take out the trash.

That's probably why I dig him the most.

didn't his parents teach him to shave. you can't be successful without looking your best. the truth is not interesting enough... so we have television and movies to create new fun ways to lie about the truth. and we better not trust the internets either...dirty technology.

Michael Moore movies are normally pretty great until he inevitably embarks of a crusade about 45 minutes in.

Like taking the Columbine victims to a gun store, or the ill Americans to Cuba to get fair health treatment in 'Sicko'.

This is normally the point where his movies stop being informative and start doing his cause no favours. I mean, of course Cuba are going to go all out to help those American citizens. They get to embarrass America in the process. Doesn't tell us anything about how Cuba really treats her citizens.

Is he a docu maker or a protester???

And I suggest everyone watch that Charlton Heston scene again. The creative editing is obvious to me.

For all these failing, when he actually sticks to the facts, he makes informative films.

I'm interested to see how the movie turns out. I hope he exposes some important information instead of just poking at party politics. This is a huge opportunity, I wish I had the power to make one of these movies, it would kick butt. The problem is, Moore has never researched the Federal Reserve so right off the bat he doesn't understand the true cause of our crisis. Let's pressure Moore to expose the Federal Reserve and get them out from the GAO restrictions that keep us from knowing where trillions of dollars are flowing in corporate welfare and bailouts! This information needs to be transparent for the American people. At least HR 1207 got a majority of sponsorship in both houses.....now let's see if Michael Moore can expose the government instead of acting as its propaganda machine. What the media doesn't tell you....you need to know!

    Hello All,

Though I've no idea what thoughts this movie, if any, will provoke in the majority of the public, I hope it sheds some light on our failing system and the patchwork keeping it together.

The problem appears that though Mr. Moore's films DO facilitate an important, *taboo* even, message to the public, the underlying message is lost in his presentation (or lack thereof).

All this seems to do is accelerate the debate on said subject to the point where no one cares to talk about it. This stalls progress.

It's time we transcend this system all together lest we repeat ALL this nonsense again.

"We must become the change we want to see in the world".
    -Mohandas Gandhi

Please, if u want to see real change in the world, let's stop talking about it and work towards it. Or else Michael Moore and others like him will have material forever. visit this site:

Man, I watched Sicko twice and it definitely doesn't help my urge to get the fuck out of here before the lights go out. It might never happen, but I don't have that much faith in the machine.

Your DOPE might be labeled with one of those very questionable prescription labels with a FRESH signature, stating that the dope you just purchased is "good for you", according to the DRUGS in OUR FOOD ADMINISTRATION,,,
who of course, WE have no legal right to INTERROGATE any of the PEOPLE "connected" to that heaven fucking sent establishment,

I mean, who's in control of the dope in our food?
Who's in control of the the drugs they cut the "legal" dope with?
Who's responsible for the side effects?

What fucking planet are WE on?

I wish that I could REACH YOU! or anyone else with a voice and a fucking CRACK in the preverbial "window" to gain the attention of Millions...you know,, maybe it's MY fault for being too quiet,
but let's be honest... exposing faith in my ability to KNOW the best way for US to respond 'in case of an emergency' to a world that lacks the ability to contemplate a sudden LONG TERM loss of 'electricity', makes me sound like a lunatic.
    What planet are we on???
I know you don't want to hear me.
Nobody want's to think about a 'mass casualty incident" on a a global scope.

You find it SANE to pursue an investigation of their BOOKS instead of acknowledged the side effects from the SHIT and DOPE they've BEEN sneaking in the FOOD and DRUGS that are found to be LEGAL! under the greatest fucking ADMINISTRATORS in the whole wide fucking world?
    No?
Well, that's what the most popular/controversial voice WE have access to is pursuing.
WE are stuck, and WE are FUCKED until someone or 'something' becomes great enough to attract a 'respectable' enough percentage of OUR population to FIGHT about the Drug controlled "Hands WE have chosen" to LEAD AND FEED US. Did you vote to live in a world where OUR SEED is regulated by a bunch of Royal fucking drug dealers,,, or where the FOOD is full of taste and nutrition and it improves your fucking health????
I guess that's my whole problem.
I can't find anyone interested in pursuing a counter strike against the group or 'deity' who presently has the POWER and AUTHORITY to call the shots concerning the contents of OUR FOOD. If two or more people discussed this 'issue', or if someone was stupid enough to ask someone to participate in a discussion about said issue... they would be breaking one of the many federal law found in the patriot act,,
to protect the system from exposure and truth.
Like... fuck all these beautiful things we have in life and the future...
the spirit of those interested in being alive on this Earth, when the system WE have been raised with dies, is weak, and dying.
Nobody's even talking about survival without it.
    That spirit or the system.
"God" and the dope man won't continue to co-exist while maintaining authority over the 'masses' by simply having the power to protray themselves, as a friendly smiling face on the ball sack on the DICK, I mean... the DRUGS that the drug indudsty has the AUTHORIZATION to pump in OUR assess 24/7.

Let me be the first one to tell you... "God's people" have been getting t-bagged and tag teamed by the dope man.
That's as polite as I can be about it.

    Nanu Nanu.

    Comprenda?
