18-year old arrested for killing and mutilating his neighbors cats
Tyler Hayes Weinman, 18, was taken into custody at a party, police said. He was still being questioned at Miami-Dade police headquarters while authorities praised the arrest at a press conference Sunday morning.
"I understand that pet owners feel very strongly about their little family members," Miami-Dade County Commissioner Katy Sorenson said. "Animals bring happiness and comfort to our lives. So, to see them so violated and mutilated just defies all common sense and it's painful for everyone involved. Thankfully, for this community, the terror has come to an end."
Weinman was charged with 19 felony counts of animal cruelty, 19 misdemeanor counts of improperly disposing of an animal body and four felony counts of burglary related to the cat deaths. It is unclear if he has an attorney. Messages left at phone numbers for his parents were not immediately returned and no one answered the door at his home.
"I hope it's not true," said 77-year-old Robert Ehrman, who lives across the street from Weinman and called his mother a "lovely person," but said he didn't know the teen well. "It's like a death in the family, I'm sure."

I was walking around my neighborhood one day and I saw a dead cat hanging from a tree with it's mouth open and it's arms outstretched and it scared the shit out of me. I think the cops found out that it was a drunk neighbor who was pissed at the people who owned the cat or something like that.

Now, what I don't understand is how this happened to so many cats...
Did someone not catch on right away? Did no one even take notice of their pets until they're dead and gone? Or he was just very crafty... Yet the article points to no evidence. I really hope that it was him, otherwise they really did just destroy this kid's life for the sake of just pointing the finger at someone.
I'd have to say that this post, the article itself, and probably the case are very one sided, and it seems they just pinned it on a kid with prior felonies so to give the neighborhood 'peace'. To go out and call this kid sick without knowing everything, is really poor on everyone's part. The person that did do it, if it was a person (it's still not very clear for all counts), is very strange and cruel. I would like to see all, if not one little piece of evidence, besides his prior felonies. It's very unfair to judge him before he's even convicted. It doesn't even mention what he was arrested for. Shame on the media for jumping to conclusions and ruining peoples' lives before everything is in order.

future serial killer.
just sayin.
-
I live in the Kendall area and about a week ago we let outside our two cats (like we do every morning) and one of them went missing.
She's been missing for about 5 days now. We have no clue where she is. We were scared because we had heard of the cat-serial killer. The cat still hasn't returned... damn it.
But I wouldn't be surprised if the MIA police got it wrong, the local government seems to mess up in everything here.

This is textbook background of future murderers. Can we just lock him up for life now?

Are you kidding me? This kid has a bright future as a military interrogator.

I would say, put his ass in the US Marine Corps, but a prospective serial killer is not a "good fit" for the military. Yes, he is definitely serial killer material. This is how Jeffrey Dahmer got his start. The police need to nip this in the bud, and give him a LONG prison sentence.

One sick puppy skinning cats. Will probably end up hiring illegals to slaughter something in disease pit factories while making a good wage skimming off the labor of his moral superiors and wage slave victims. Will end up getting a lot of pussy. ( Or yes, if he cant really cut that,...WILL probably end up a serial killer. )

What a sick kid. Hopefully he gets the help he needs.
