“SEE A FILM ON US” is the Theme of the 2009 fest, the Film Institute's 23rd Annual. Audi is coming on as presenting sponsor, again, and they decided to offer complimentary screenings at the festival!
Also: The festival is moving from its home at the Arclight to its new spot at Mann's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, ratcheting up the glamour factor like 50 bajillion percent (while conscribing its poor audience to parking and traffic hell).
From their release: "AFI FEST 2009 presented by Audi will be held October 30 – November 7 in Hollywood, California, celebrating its 23rd year as Los Angeles’ premier film festival. This year, in recognition of Audi’s 100 years of automotive innovation, AFI and Audi will offer complimentary tickets to all screenings, including a limited number of seats at the evening screenings and Galas, including Opening and Closing Night."
