"It's very hard for me to swallow that one," Obama told CNBC when asked whether he thinks the media is too easy on him. "First of all, I've got one television station entirely devoted to attacking my administration."
The interviewer quickly assumed Obama was referring to Fox News, a suggestion the president didn't disagree with.
"Well, that's a pretty big megaphone," he said. "And you'd be hard-pressed, if you watched the entire day, to find a positive story about me on that front."
"We welcome people who are asking us some, you know, tough questions," he continued. "And I think that I've been probably as accessible as any president in the first six months–press conferences, taking questions from reporters, being held accountable, being transparent about what it is that we're trying to do. I think that, actually, the reason that people have been generally positive about what we've tried to do is they feel as if I'm available and willing to answer questions, and we haven't been trying to hide them all. "
Obama struck a similar tone on the matter last month in his appearance before the White House Correspondents Dinner, during which he joked to the crowd, "Most of you covered me; all of you voted for me, apologies to the Fox table."

Is censorship next on his agenda?
-
No need for censorship but Fox "news" clearly needs to be renamed to something far less innocuous. How about Fox Right Wing Agenda or Fox Pandering or Fox GOP Channel?
-
That is fine with me. However, A Commander-in -Chief and President should maintain his neutrality and dignity despite his personal feelings. This is a small crack in his veneer, but a crack nonetheless.
-
Well, Fox snews takes aim at him 24/7, he should be able to fire back with a few jokes now and then. I would.
-
He's absolutely right. Every second of news on Fox devoted to Obama is spun negatively, or out right falsified. Same with Limbaugh, Savage, Coulter and a host of other right wing talking heads. Without them, and their slander and lies, the GOP would be long gone.
Left wing media bias is an urban legend.
-
PJ, I love a sense of humour, particularly when displayed by politicians, who are usually very uptight and self important. President Obama has been quite adroit at handling the media. I just feel that in this case he should not even dignify his critics with recognition. It made me think that maybe they were getting under his skin, a little.
-
"FOX" & "News" should never be used in the same sentence together.
-
How petty!. Just like David Letterman/Palin BS.
He's the president, pay attention to what you need to not TV commentators. What a waste of his valuable time.
It only validates the station.-

Yes, with all of the pressing problems Americans face, it's good to know that Fox is top priority news here for those obsessed with Fox News.

It was one comment stemming from one question of many. No one is prioritizing it but those that choose to for political as usual.
-
Oh please, spare me. If it has no relevance or priority he should have just said he had no comment about them and moved on. Now he just showed he's upset because they don't approve of him, as if what they think even matters. And it IS a priority here obviously if you look at the place it is in on this page. Fox News appears to be more important to politicial junkies here than homelessness or climate change. That speaks volumes.

Fox News needs to take a step back and watch some of their own programs. I can't see how intelligent people can watch some (most) of that stuff and think it's OK.
To take one Current page and say that the President cares more about Fox "News" than homelessness and climate change may be taking it a bit far, don't ya think?
It's not like we took one part of the article to showcase or anything, leaving out the rest of the discussion. -
Um, who do you think gets all the anti-global warming crowd worked up Jan? You are a fool if you think it all will go away if you ignore it.
-
And you are a fool to spend all of your time bitching about them when you could be spending that time actually doing something constructive to counter it. Working for change is not ignoring it.

Is this news ?
-
Classy for a US President to let a TV station intimidate him. Narcissist.
Not the first time he attacked Fox. Typical democrat. ONE station vs HOW MANY Liberal stations? Freaks.
What was the percentage of negative coverage amongst the media about McCain/Palin vs. Obama/Biden?
To his gripe, I say "whah". Everybody doesn't love you.

Fox news is a disease. It eats away at truth in media. I would love to see an HONEST network take up the GOP views but the fact is the GOP talking points are mostly dishonest so to say that it is fair to present the arguments of both sides on an equal footing is dead wrong.
For example firing everyone up over a bow to the Saudis knowing full well Bush kissed them.
Making a big issue about his speech to the Muslim world as if talking to them in a civil manner is some kind of anti-American sin.
Obfuscating the issues surrounding health care reform.
And that is just the recent BS. If we looked at the last eight years and even the Clinton years the bias on the part of Fox not only exceeds all the bias you could find across the spectrum of American media it is like comparing a blood test to a murder scene.
Fox is the worst god damned news outlet in the nation hands down. Period. Anyone that can read and does knows that. Shameless and self serving bullshit is all that comes out of that station. I truly hate those sons of bitches with the white hot intensity of a thousands suns for what they have done to American news media.

FOX News sucks....But Obama has, is, and it seems will continue to fall short on any campaign promises, including transparency....
Another puppet for globalist fat cats! Let's not let the LEFT/RIGHT puppet show deter us from the real truth!!!
-
BTW WUP, next time you should invert your photo, and put FOX on the Right side, and Obama on the Left.
If your going to use a metaphor for the illusion, keep it accurate!
-
All I've got to say to Obama is: Go Obama!!!!!! Ya!

I don't know why Obama keeps pointing out that Fox News doesn't like his agenda. Quit stating the obvious every time you get a microphone. I never heard W. whining about MSNBC every other press conference.
Obama has every other network kissing his ass with the exception of Fox News. I never thought I'd say this but thank God there is at least one network not jizzing over Michelle's wardrobe. When did we become the UK?

Totally agree...

Anyone with the inclination to fact check can dismiss most of what comes from Faux Snooze.
It's the lazy and holier than thou rightie-tighties who refuse to acknowledge facts of reality because the deep seated fear of not being able to dictate morality to everyone else terrifies them. It's all about power and control they need to feel otherwise they go off the rails.
That's how we end up with animals like Roeder and Von Brunn.

Wa Wa Wa. Why are liberals such crybabies and always in need of the government to take care of them?
