This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. I do not think it is normal to contend that Jesus would have been a fan of guns.
That said I support my fellow American's rights to keep and bear arms.

LMAO.. I hope they have a good time! Glad they are doing firearms safety lessons with all that!
from the article:
“I don’t see any contradiction in this. Not every Christian denomination is pacifist.”"The bring-your-gun-to-church day, which will include a $1-raffle of a handgun, firearms safety lessons and a picnic, is another sign that the gun culture in the United States is thriving despite, or perhaps because of, President Obama’s election in November. "gun" "culture"
"gun culture"
Am I the only person who sees something of an inherent contradiction in these terms? I am supportive of the 2nd Amendment right to bear arms for a number of reasons...not all of them related to hunting. But I think of them more as a "necessary evil" or an "inherently dangerous tool." I just think that when we speak of American culture, we have enough areas that need improvement without adding guns to the mix.

Me thinks the People who agreed to give up their Guns in Iran when they inacted Gun laws never dreamed their Government would do something like this!!! Himmmmm Makes you think doesn't it? Guns in the hands of Everyday Law abiding People not only make Criminal's think Twice about kicking in the Door, But also would Make the Government think twice about going to far as well Read the jefferson Papers good stuff :)

The logic is curious...The more guns the less violence..........just like the more alcohol available the less drinking.....the more money you have the less you will spend...
It has been my experience in life that there are many people who when armed have a tendency to become much more eager to confront, and have a "just let someone try and give me any shit" attitude. Where I grew up in L.A. there are plenty of young "vatos" running around armed and eager for a chance to show how fearless they are...I believe you guys honestly think it's a good idea to have everyone "heavy" but I don't think many or maybe not any of you have ever lived in an environment where that is actually the case. If you could live in one of my old neighborhoods you would soon learn that it's not a good thing...unless you just like bullets flying around nightly. -
I haven't heard of any drive by machete killings, perhaps you could make me aware of where there have been some..and while you are at that find out how many kids have been killed in their own front yard by a stray machete thrown at someone else.
The old argument that only criminals will have guns if they are outlawed doesn't hold water either..RPG's , and hand grenades are outlawed by the govt. and it takes that ban seriously...thats why street gangs don't have them...the same could be done with guns if they got serious about banning them -
Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
—Matthew 26:52, King James Version
I guess this pastor hasn't gotten that far into the book he is supposed to be teaching from. -
This is one person's experience with guns and gun laws.

I've seen many a religious person act... well 'unreligious' and do it in the name of faith and god. As long as these foolios are employing common sense and safety when donning weapons, good for them...
Until someone gets clapped in the name of jesus.-

Guns and Jesus go together - they represent the ugly, ignorant under belly of our society.

Awesome I love stories like this. There is nothing wrong with affirming the right of well trained, law abiding citizens to carry guns. Let the prejudice people freak out. I say point, laugh and then ignore them.

I'm pretty sure this is every pastor in Oklahoma (where I live)

Pack those pews with pistols boys and girls never know when some Bible Thumpin' Tillman style shooting may occur.
God loves guns or he wouldn't have created them to smite with. Thou shall not kill, forget that shit. -
