Democrats Sell Out On Healthcare.

What is it going to take for people to fight back and demand single payer universal healthcare?

The United States remains the only industrialized country in the world without a universal health care system.
- 46 million Americans remain uninsured;
- 20 thousand people continue to die each year because they are uninsured;
- Elderly Americans continue to make the choice of whether they should eat or buy medicine;
- Health care costs continue to bankrupt American families.

When is someone going to start a recall against Max Baucus to show our representatives that we are serious, that 76% of us want single payer universal healthcare now!

    Another travesty against the american people.

  •

    It is a fight that we have to take to the streets, but hold your powder till they force us to take the sham of a bill they will say was all they could get. Fuck them we know they are all on the dole of the major corporations that tell them what we are going to get. Organize as soon as possible to fight with force this time it is all we have left the political system is bought and payed for. Great post Marilynn sorry for my outrage but I am extremely pissed off at our system and the corporations that run it.

  •

    Exactly how I feel. We have to go after Baucus first. Then replace the rest of the gutless whores.

    Yes, the excuse is always, "it's all we can get that is politically feasible." Well, screw them.

    They're all in bed with special interests.

    Pharmaceutical and Insurance companies come in just behind Big Oil in terms of lobbying.

    I would be damn impressed if these fucks actually did something against their interest, but I just can't see it happening.

    They are just waiting for their special interests to slowly adjust to the government bureaucratic standard. It is sad to me, WHY?!? Not because the democrats once again lied to their own followers....but because their followers have been brainwashed into this government insurance/takeover land where everyone can be taken care of and it will be sustainable and it will cost less......all the other dreamland scenarios that history has shown NOT to be true. What is sad is how few people understand economics and philosophy. How do you convince a bunch of people that their system will do more harm when only intangible assets can be shown after liquidation or injection of capital accumulation?!? It is sad, because too many people believe that the pharma/insurance companies and the government are enemies when they are all really partners in the same crime. Why monopolize your families health to the same people that run the Pentagon?!? It just doesn't make sense why people not only accept the system we have today(republicans) but also want MORE slavery (democrats)....BOTH of these systems are an utter failure. One built on fascist, the other built on more fascism.....libertarians demand REAL change and the government and the corporations the government protects do NOT want that....unless it takes the shape of some new bureaucratic control......ie: more government.....Government has destroyed healthcare and now it wants to blame it on freedom. All those stats above.....a result of TOO MUCH GOVERNMENT!!!!

    Picking up prescriptions and taking her to Dr.'s appointment made me realize that my aging mother was walking a tightrope. If you accept $4m from that is not a campaign contribution, it is a bribe.

    bluestranger
  •

    It's not only bribery but criminal and we need to bring these contributions out in the open and make citizen arrests.

    I concur . Both parties are dead , from the corporate stranglehold of life haters . We need to make them irrelevant .

    Health Care should not be for profit, thats plain and simple and the people that support a free market for our health care are nothing but criminals too. Thats why we have a common good fire department instead of a for profit one that would not come to your house cause you didn't pay your protection money. The scams of pay for play in the health care field are a blight on our common good for the citizens of this country. We are 37th in the world because of this so called free market system in health care and it's time for the killing to begin on the other side, all criminals associated with this criminal Mafia controlled health care system should be arrested or shot dead in the streets like the infected dogs they are.

    We need to take a lesson from the Iranians, get up off the damn couch, and start massive protesting. 72% of the population will get noticed if they unite for a common cause. We've been made to feel helpless and at the mercy of our politicians and corporations, but the truth is that they depend upon us. If we arent willing to fight for what's right, you'd have to be an idiot to think that powerful wouldn't take advantage. Put your DVR to use and start protesting at your congressperson's office. If you want it, go get it.

    The Democrats and Republicans are one party and we were sold out a long time ago - slowly (or not so slowly, depending your perspective of time) each member of congress and the senate, have become servants/slaves to the psychotic perversions of the corporate mind set.

    At the end of the year the same group (that would be the micro per cent of the world that is running the show at present), that resides not just in the U.S. but has spread its cancerous curse abut the globe, will really pull the rug from under us when we no longer have the freedom for alternative remedies - those vitamins, minerals, super foods that give many people an alternative choice to traditional medicine and a less expensive pathway to a healthier life - watch out for Codex Alimentarius....

    Its not just one party that is creepy as described in the video above...

    The same group thinks its o.k. to put poisons in our water, food, air, and the same group that thinks its o.k. to turn our environment into a martian landscape, the same group that is presenting us with frankenfoods and silent forests. Their last laugh on us is how do we get help to cure ourselves and the world abut us.... a bit short sighted in the long run (depending upon your concept of time) their slaves (that would be us) will die... oh that's right, that doesn't matter, by that time "they" will have robots to do their dirty work....
    The "Collective" -- the people, will probably not rise to the occasion - too many people are dragged down by chemicals like aspartame, mercury in our food and water, hypnotic television that bends the mind into stupidity, wi-fi in the air waves - subtle and yet an effective brain dimmer....

    Many of us here have said this before - we all need to stop working for them and buying from "them". Humans are just going to have to get brave, bare the inconvenience and "fear" of not having that latest i-pod or whatever it is, and know we can create a better world for our children without politicians and lobbyists. Authentic leadership with integrity is an inner quality, in today's world that which we describe as "leadership" usually comes from an arrogant, fear full, psychotic control freak.... Those people are leading us over the cliff to our collective death.

    Its not just Max Baucas that has to go... he is not working alone... Most of them have to go... and how we do that at this present time - just don't know...

    well if we did not depend on insurance for our basic healthcare, this really would not be a problem.... having insurance does not cure everything.... sometimes it harms the process rather than helps it......not to mention the fact that insurance companies drive the prices up......

    In France the government fears the people.
    In America we the people fear our government.
    We must go to the streets. We can't just talk about health care reform anymore we must take action.

    Normally I'd mock people in these threads. But unfortunately I have to agree, I'd say at this point both parties have pretty much buckled.

    Be nice if everyone young would start up a new party and just let everyone old suck it.

    By old I don't necessarily mean old in age, just folks who think either party is good for them.

    They sold us out for big campaign bucks. We have to let them know that is a big mistake, because we will not support those that don't support us. Start recalling those that are against single payer, and don't stop until they are all gone. Max Baucus first.

    Marilynn_Murray

    It's not just the democrats that are selling us out.

    Ihatethemall

    No it isn't just the Democrats, they all need to be slammed up against the wall. Healthcare is a bipartisan issue. The Republicans keep coming up with ridiculous ideas, expecting people to believe they are trying to find a solution. Not working, they haven't come up with anything worthwhile.

    Obviously we see the faults with it. Good for us.

  •

    meh, american's are too fat and comfortable to feel the need to actually take action.

    someone else will do it right?

    This is disgusting. The majority of citizens are on the same side, yet the government defies us, kills us.

    What amazes me is that everyone wants to be paid more for what they do and pay everyone else less for their services. A doctor has to be trained for his services for 8 yrs, at least. That is a huge investment, but it's selfish for him to want to be paid for doing his job? Don't you all want to be paid wages that reflect your schooling and abilities?

    Why bother becoming a doctor if all of you thugs just want to rip them off?

    Free health care isn't free! And every country that has this coverage is suffering from a shortage of services and people are dying waiting for treatment in far higher numbers than they are here. Socialists are famous for lying and propaganda, why do you people want the government to run your medical decisions?

    What majority? Only 23 percent of the population voted for Obama.

    There are three classes of dishonesty: Lies! Damn lies! and Statistics!

    nikelibertate, You are full of macaroni. No one wants to beat the doctors down on their price. We want to cut out the insurance companies that take one third of every healthcare dollar. Over 17,000 doctors are for single payer because they are tired of not being able to treat their patients.

    We aren't asking for free healthcare. Single payer will not be free. Your information on other countries healthcare is wrong. Read up on it before you speak up.
