Very cool! Hemp should never have been outlawed in the first place.
-
WOW! Thats great news. Return of the Hemp.
-
They didn't call it the Oregon Trail for nothing.
-
Finally they are listening to 'voices of reason', instead of the 'madness' created during the war on drugs, and the movie 'Reefer Madness'.
'Hemp For Victory'!!!!! 'Voices of Reason' from our past:
"Prohibition... goes beyond the bound of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded" -Abraham Lincoln
"The prestige of government has undoubtedly been lowered considerably by the prohibition law. For nothing is more destructive of respect for the government and the law of the land than passing laws which cannot be enforced. It is an open secret that the dangerous increase of crime in this country is closely connected with this." - Albert Einstein quote on Hemp
"The illegality of cannabis is outrageous, an impediment to full utilization of a drug which helps produce the serenity and insight, sensitivity and fellowship so desperately needed in this increasingly mad and dangerous world." - Carl Sagan, renown scientist, astronomer, astrochemist, author and TV host
"Two of my favorite things are sitting on my front porch smoking a pipe of sweet hemp, and playing my Hohner harmonica." - Abraham Lincoln (from a letter written by Lincoln during his presidency to the head of the Hohner Harmonica Company in Germany)
"Hemp is of first necessity to the wealth & protection of the country."
- Thomas Jefferson, U.S. President"Make the most you can of the Indian Hemp seed and sow it everywhere."
- George Washington, U.S. President"We shall, by and by, want a world of hemp more for our own consumption."
- John Adams, U.S. President -
I really hope Farmer's doors don't get kicked in by the DEA. But sad to say, I wouldn't doubt it.

I love this topic but the source seems sketchy...please post news from official sources! Here is one confirming your story from an Oregon newspaper; http://www.oregonlive.com/politics/index.ssf/2009/06/house_oks_industrial_hemp.h...

If we can drink Gin we can smoke anything. And tax it as well. The same goes for Pros men & woman. Then regulate & tax it all.
-
Hope this goes well. Hemp is such a great product, so versatile and cheap. Next is medicinal use of cannabis.
-
Cool. Now you can get shirts that hold color twice as long. No more having to throw out your favorite shirt.
-
hurray!
-
Great!!! With 13 states supporting hemp production, we only need like 27 more to get the federal goverment to act accordingly.
-
Yeah, I'm waiting on the heroic DEA to start kicking down farmer Bob's door. This needs to be done EVERYWHERE. We need to come out of a recession... hmmm... how about we start growing and exporting HEMP. One of natures most versatile resources. It's about time! I only hope that reason and logic will cause more states and eventually the feds to realize they've been doing it all wrong... but when has that ever happened?

Yah! This is really exciting news for Oregon. They are going through some of the worst unemployment and economic slow downs in the country right now. Hopefully this will bring a boost to their GDP and also employ a lot of people out there. Hell I'd pay the double taxes to work in Oregon and live in Washington, if it will help get this project off the ground...
