Video footage from a so-called "snake camera" that was trolling in a sewer near Raleigh, North Carolina. The video shows some kind of pulsing mass, which led to all kinds of conjecture about the nature of the blob. According to city officials, the unknown life form is simply a colony of tubifex worms.

this has been debunked. They are colonies of worms that pull themselves into balls when they are left without dirt to crawl around in. The twitching behavior is due to sympathetic motion amongst all the worms when one of them moves.
