Are Subways Making You Deaf?

Not surprising, but still troubling: A new study from the University of Washington and Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health shows that subways are the loudest forms of mass transit in the city.

    Yes! Some Subways are very loud! I am remembering that when I board the Bart in San Francisco. That is because transit agencies have been ran by denial and taking advantage of people's ignorance in acoustics.

    I bet it can be over bearing at times. But when you got that sweet I pod on nothing is over bearing. that is unless your listening to Jackson music. you know, the Jackson 5 :)

    I remember when I was a kid, a local NYC news channel did a story on this, and tested how many decibels we're exposing ourselves to daily when taking the subway, and i think they said it was as bad for your ears as going to a rock concert every day...
