what with the life expectancy of the baby boomers steadily on the decline, the U.S. American economy is rapidly falling along with them.
Had it been anticipated earlier, it can easily be foreseen that a lot of our economic problems stem from the WWll generation. It seems as though there are few more businesses besides the health care system; i.e. life insurance, health insurance, hospitals, nursing homes and retirement communities etc. are profiting from the previous generation. However, they won't be around here much longer.
So why are there no jobs? Perhaps it may be because the prior generation was relatively uneducated blue collar working class citizens of whom were very rarely well acquainted with a tertiary education rather than the military or a trade school if that. In kind businesses could afford to pay them smaller wages and provide for them a retirement program including pensions and benefits etc.
It may be that their childrens' children and their off spring aren't having enough kids. more and more teens and twenty-somethings among others well on into their mid-forties have had some college education and are demanding higher wages from the companies that their parents' parents worked for all in order to pay off their university educations in promise of a better life.
Now pensions are a thing of the past and benefits if any are becoming unheard of. After the effects of reaganomics and deregulation, the social business model has shifted from all for one and one for all more towards the private sector and every man for himself. Then inflation happened as well as the cost of living began to rise along with it and big business didn't like that much so it tightened its belt with an iron fist. Big Business invested in offshore bank accounts laid off good hard workers and outsourced jobs overseas for wages that were being paid at a rate that only existed in the 1930's.
In theory, now that the baby boomers are beginning to grow old and fade away, there should be more jobs available to the following generation. right? Especially with the recent developments in the fields of science and technology. Where have all their jobs gone? what happened to them? Who is working in their place? If there are no jobs then why are they telling us to make more babies? it seems as though it would only lend itself to the same problems in the future.
