Unemployment Hits 9.5 Percent

It's strange how some believe that those who don't have a job don't want to work or are just lazy, not being able to process the fact that population exceeds the amount of jobs available. If America is going continue with this trend of mass consumerism,not producing, manufacturing or engineering anything, than it will need socialism more than any other country.

Remember, this is a country that doesn't even encourage it's citizens to read. first, profits go up, THEN companies invest in expansion, THEN they hire people.

they DON'T hire people FIRST.

focus on industry profits and growth.

and if you oppose either of those, as i KNOW many of you do, kwitcherbitchin about unemployment numbers because you're ignorant of how "the economy" works.

oh, btw, corporate profits ARE already up, during this "Depression."

and i just got this from the multibillion dollar corporation that manages retirement and pension funds for tens of thousands of individuals, as well as cities, counties and companies around the US....

The real unemployment rate has always been higher than you think; ckeckout the number of people not collecting for whatever reason, and recent grads that never found employment. Oh yeah, thank your capitalist friends for selling our real base of strength to the chinese and others.

the "free market" you despise has always provided the highest standards of living and freedom for everyone whose governments let them come anywhere near that "horrible condition" of freedom.

greed and screwing over other people may happen in capitalistic markets, but if you could ever admit it, it's as much or more rampant in controlled economies, too [not that you'll ever admit THAT...]

maybe greed is a genetic problem for many human beings, and THAT's where you should look, not at the economic systems.

with reasonable controls and protections from greed and illegal acts, a free capitalistic market WILL provide the best for most.

problem is: greed also includes the folks you elect to be the "leaders" and their greed works WITH the greed of others to screw up and bias the economics against REAL freedom, and then everything goes to hell, and you blame the system, not the perpetrators.

Gee, it's still not as high as when Jimmy Carter worked on the system. It was up in the double digits for a good while. Didn't get better until the mid 80's.
But I'm sure with the actions sped up by the congress since they got their Manchurian Candidate in place the unemployment rates will surpass even Jimmy's worst numbers!.

ok, kids, here's the real skinny...

first, O-man is not an economist, nor is he a scientist or mathematician.

he's a politician, and anyone who doesn't think so should trade in their rose-colored glasses.

now, here's the latest deal....

why is Obama loading up the media and congress with all of these pork-filled and spendthrift programs and "deals"?

for literally scores of years, politicians have caved in to everyone's demands for more "gimmie" projects and money.

by offering Everything to Everyone, Obama will eventually toss on enough bricks [and not just straws] that the camel's back will break....

even Joe Six-Pack will get the 2x4 upside the head and realize that you can't have EVERYTHING you ask for WITHOUT ANY DIRECT COST OR PENALTY to you, yourself.

it will be an Age of Economic Awakening and Realism.

many will howl, many will suffer, as their government-bloated teats are wrenched from their sucking mouths, but many will also realize the impossibility of the continued fictions so many have come to believe are "rights" and not privileges granted by the success of our businesspeople.

it will be a day of reckoning, pain and growth.

for some.
