A 148-year-old colonial law has been overturned, with a Deli court ruling that consensual homosexual sex is not a crime. Gay activists in India are celebrating the ruling but prepared for the potential challenges ahead. Ashok Row Kavi, editor for India's first gay magazine, said , "The social stigma will remain. It is [still] a long struggle. But the ruling will help in HIV prevention. Gay men can now visit doctors and talk about their problems. It will help in preventing harassment at police stations."
