An adoption agency in California is reporting a rise in adoption from single black women. 45% of black women have never been married, as opposed to 23% of white women - and it seems like they're tired of waiting for a ring to start their families. Several other adoption organizations have reported similar patterns, citing infertility issues and a desire to become a mother before 'it's too late' as many women's reasons for adopting.
This CNN article also suggests a lack of black men wanting to be fathers, but I find this a very bad explanation - ever heard of inter-racial marriage?
