A bomb blast outside a church in the southern Philippines has killed at least one person and injured at least eight, the army says.

The military immediately blamed the attack in the town of Cotabato on an Islamist militant group, the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.

The group has been fighting to establish a separate Islamic state.

One of its leaders denied any involvement in the attack, saying there was no religious conflict in the south.

    • No, that picture isn't from the Phillipines- it's from Detroit! Jeez, don't you know that Maoist and Islamist terrorist groups are active in the Phillipines? What shocks me is that an Islamist group didi this! I figured it was a group of Mormons or maybe Jehovah's Witnesses that did this- after all, Jehovah's Witnesses are known for their ruthlessness- at least when it comes to knocking on doors and interrupting people's dinners!!

hzaven't gotten a witness in years myself, Mormons occasionally. I understand the trick is to actually agree to talk to them. Talk religion with them... extensively and in detail. Feel free to disagree, invite them to your church. Keep them there as long as possible. They'll never be back.

Well, they would be begging me to discuss the trinity with them. That's a trap. It gives them control of the conversation- I would always question them about the organization- who founded it, when, and things that the organization had brushed under the carpet- like "Beth Sarim", for example, and that the early JW celebrated Christmas, and believed that Jesus died on a Cross, not a "torture stick"- and I had scads of ministerial books published by the JW's to prove my points. Once I could see the wheels turning in the heads of the junior member, the BossMan JW would suddenly discover that they had run out of time, and would have to leave, as they were due back at the Kingdom Hall. That guaranteed that I would never see them again! Worked like a charm!
