Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Read it and weep you pious bastards. The inherent hypocrisy of the religious establishment never ceases to amaze.

Whenever an opportunity arises for these Christians to either act maturely by politely disagreeing or childishly taking offense, they will choose the latter every time.

Told you Christians are a bunch of baby's...
It's awesome how non-believers can get under these religious fuck's skin

IMO (notice there's no h in that one. I actually do know what I'm talking about here) Unless this was a very cynical attempt to grab media attention which i really doubt considering the character of the guy, that was a epically dumb media buy. The fact that it was also insanely successful does not change that.
Not all billboard placements are created equal by a long shot. There is an entire system of math and demographics analysis that goes into billboard placement. This whole thing is really amateurish. From the copy to the ad graphics, to the placement. This is an expensive way to learn how to do PR. If they hired a professional they need a new one. The spastic color choices, boiler plate spacing and really bad venue choice imply they used the house graphics shop from the billboard company. They are just about the only ones who might actually want them to buy space no one else would be willing to pay for. In House is generally but not always a bad idea unless you are in a hurry (in house can be really really fast and cheap because they know their equipment and what it can be set up for) doing boilerplate things or really know what your message is. These guys as a rule will be primarily printers not advertisers. You'll get good and not infrequently great technical work but little else.
The fact that it made local and national news is almost certainly dumb luck but worth capitalizing on. Get a real campaign going before it cools but hire someone real for god's sake. No more shop room community college folks. Get an agency.

If it were true you wouldn't need a billboard to try to convince people one way or the other. These religious spats are getting so boring here.
-
yeah
Shame on you viking for wanting to share your opinion.
Even if you were possibly aware of the redundancy of this post.
I SAY SHAME ON YOU SIR!-

Nothing makes a Christian angry than a non-believer. While I simply don't care.
-
It's a shame that the media only shows the kind of Christian who gets uppity about everything and are close-minded.
Something that is also sad, is that majority of people here say all Christians are like that... yet, that is somewhat close-minded in-and-of itself.
Then again, maybe this post is close-minded

This just doubles the utility of these billboards. In addition to their primary objective of reaching out to atheists, they also reveal Christian insecurity and intolerance.
-
It upsets me so much how the children in that community are being taught rote-style that the billboard is wrong or evil. It's such an inoffensive thing to say - I feel strongly about both points that it raises. People should be made aware that you DON'T need belief in God to be a good person, and people who are in the minority and are freethinkers should know they're not alone, especially in a community such as this.
It's so upsetting how fast and easily people rush to demonize and rally against atheists. While I don't mean to belittle the plights of homosexuals, African Americans, or women, atheists may end up being the last discriminated-against minority.

To those saying it becomes redundant for this kinda of stuff to be posted, may I remind you that this is Current. We post news all the time. It stays on the first page for a day or two, maybe more. It is a way for everyone to relay information. If this kind of stuff happens, then let it be shared. The more information shared, the more knowledge we gain.
Saying we dont need to post so much of it anymore is like telling Iranians they dont need to share us so much video, pictures, etc...
The more we see, the more aware we become. If you feel you've been exposed to enough then dont read the article, or post on the article message board; your simply bringing more attention to a subject.

This was bound to happen, the neighborhood they placed it in is a lower income mainly African American/Latin community. There is a church on every other corner, I have driven past and saw them out there and I think the protesting is stupid but predictable.

when a christian does something like this (makes a billboard) and athiests react, usually via protest, their reaction is justified because "christians are forcing their views and beliefs on others"...but when THIS happens and christians react they are "pious bastards", "childishly taking offense", "babys", etc, etc, religious bashing, etc...
out of curiosity, why does that happen?-

Hey if your not affiliated with any religion, and your not an atheist, or Nihilist, then what the fuck are you?
Neutral?

I love American free speech. I might want to kick that guys ass personally but that's his right to say what he wants. The funny thing is is that the price of a billboard ad like the one here costs thousands of dollars a month. What a schmuck.

Christians can put up billboards saying we are going to hell if we dont listen to christ, they can produce massive amounts of propaganda in the form of pamphlets, and they get mad, for some un-biased billboard? BS, practice what you preach, let people be people, not sheep.
-
~Fufufufu......,
Christians can whine all they want, revise, preach, then try to attack, because they will only whine even more....
Of course this isn't all, just those whom has the mentality of seizing all who opposes them...
