Dan Gross came to my campus this past semester and spoke to our class about his new book dumb money. He was on the colbert report a few days later. He is a textbook keynesian. He has taken everything from our indoctrinated public schools and colleges and rehashes it in front of a national audience.

Thom Hartman is also in with this other bunch. He doesn't even understand the difference between Ayn Rand and Alan Greenspan....

here is the video shanklinmike never seems to actually want to post.
    A partial summary:
Shanklinmike personally narrates and agonizingly boring slideshow of clip art in which he starts by quoting months old newsweek statements and then claiming they are stupid an not relevant (well duh, it was MARCH) At that point it dives off into it's naval and following it starts to require note taking.

I'd spend more time tearing into it but it's literally too dull to be worth caring about. If this was a three minute speech instead of a 9 minute one it might be worth dealing with but it's just not. As a thesis oral or some other academic function it might have merit but this is just the wrong venue. I'm looking at my left sidebar and this is competing with "real wolf children" and "online booty call"

Cut it down and it might be worth discussing though.

Ouch! Bombastinator.............."The Paradox of Thrift Keynesian Myth." I would have to agree. I would rather watch 9 minutes of "Economists Gone Wild" or read a textbook of "Metalurgical Analysis and its Relation to World Peace." Of course, it might be good if I couldn't sleep- watch that for 5 or 6 minutes, watch NASCAR for 5 or 6 minutes, I'd be out like a light........

Very well made. Complex enough for the libertarian yet simple enough to be accessible to the masses. I remember thinking something was wrong with Keynesian economics the first time I heard of it. It seemed to contradict you never get something for nothing :)

Why are you posting this again? Do you think something gets better or more "facty" the more you post it? I promise you that's not the case. I think it would be great if you helped provide news for Current.com instead of self-promoting your own garbage.

I wasn't trying to be insulting really. Well maybe a tiny bit, but It is incredibly long for an audio piece. I was listening to "talk of the nation" on NPR today and they were discussing the media as it relate to the Michael Jackson stupidity. One of the things they mentioned was that One of the commentators covered the Nixon election back in '64 and his longest piece was 4 minutes long, which is something that is unheard of today. Pieces rarely last a third that long these days.

it was a pretty good piece and interesting regardless of your stance on Libertarian economic theory Podcast is here if you're curious

Forget audit FED! I say END the FED ! I DEMAND THE RESIGNATION OF BEN BERNANKE and assign the FED governor of DALLAS with at least two private accounting firms and having the finance commite of congress with joint effort inclusive of independent watch dog groups whereas E.G. GRIFFIN & PETER SCHIFF would have oversite to set up the transition and phasing out the FED by JANURAY,2 2010!
