This is awsome. Alot of times I hear more discussion on how legalizing weed could generate alot of money and little on how productive and economical cultivating hemp in in the states could be. It's crazy how growing hemp was/is illegal in the u.s. or anywhere. I love smoking marijuana. Peace.
-
Hemp may be the plant, which helps our economy and our environment. If people get past the 'Reefer Madness' mentality and actually listen to the facts pertaining to hemp, things will change.
'It's time'!
-
Reefer madness is a crazy movie haha. Look up Fords Hemp Car. That's pretty cool.
-
It's about time we legalize hemp. With all of the positives things that hemp can do you would think our government would wake up. Our founding fathers knew all the positive aspects of hemp, get the big money corporations out and hemp will thrive.

Legalizing hemp is the backdoor way of legalizing marijuana. No other reason behind wanting it legalized. None whatsoever.

"House oks industrial hemp
by Melissa Repko, The Oregonian
Monday June 29, 2009, 7:04 PMSALEM--Oregon is a step closer to growing industrial hemp with a House vote on Monday.
Industrial hemp, a cousin to marijuana, can be used to make clothes and food products. The bill would allow the production, commerce, and possession of hemp products. The House passed the bill on Monday with a 46-11 vote.
Rep. Jules Bailey, D-Portland, demonstrated the diversity of industrial hemp products with visual aids like hemp tortilla chips and a non-dairy milk product.
Holding up a T-shirt, Bailey said "Senate Bill 676 is about rope, not dope."
The bill heads to the governor's desk."
So, it hasn't been passed yet - But there's a good chance it will

Oh, wait:
"The bill, which previously passed the Senate, now goes to the desk of Gov. Ted Kulongoski. His spokeswoman, Anna Richter Taylor, said the governor didn't know whether he would sign it."

I would say a naive response unclecharlie. There is so much information out there on the many uses of hemp, there is absolutely no reason why hemp is legal to import but we cannot grow it in the USA. Why?

yeah hemp needs to start being used in every state!
-
hemp and marijuana should both be legal... I fail to see how jailing people and outlawing a very good resource is a logical way of thinking???? I feel like I'm in a twilight zone.

One word why it would be good to grow it here: Chernobyl
-
i signed up to this site just to respond to 'unclecharlie' .. you can't be serious ? .. are you a mormon ? .. google hemp , your sitting in front of the internet (using IE6 most likely) so do some research and maybe open your little mind to something ..
our world needs this , we need to use hemp for paper and its oil for plastic , its cheap , grows fast and can be planted in all different climates .. go hemp nation!
or we could carry on in unclecharlie's world , kill all the trees and continue to let our troops die in a war for oil ..
-
Now that I've been busted for growing I am dedicating the rest of my life to the cultivation of ganja and hemp. I will also do what I can to win the release of all non-violent drug related prisoners.

Some of you plant haters should read that.

right on, go Oregon!
-
The only thing I wish they'd do with smoke able drugs is make it fall under the same laws as masturbation.
It's something that is entirely acceptable but stop doing it in public because folks that aren't doing it don't necessarily want your stink on them.
If that was done I'd be 110% in support of just about anything. Keep it in your house, not because its evil but because not everyone wants to be forced to deal with the health consequences of someone elses habits.

UC meet your supporters....................
... In the countries Antigua and Barbuda(Large quantities), Kuwait(Sale and cultivation), Malaysia(Possession over 200 Grams), Saudi Arabia(Dealing/Smuggling large amounts; becoming rare to execute), Somalia, Thailand(Selling only), Singapore(over 17 Ounces), Indonesia, Bali, and possibly other countries you can actually be executed for Marijuana. In fact, over 200 people have been executed in Malaysia for drug offenses since 1974."

It is a good step to a great usable cloth that lasts and lasts. It will be wonderful to have it more prolific and more avalible for the thousands of products that can be produced from it.

'It's time' to right the wrongs of Richard Nixon and reclassify cannabis hemp. Richard Nixon left the office of President in shame, but left us with his shameful mistake. Cannabis and heroin are not equal. That's just crazy.
Why would our leaders follow along on crazy. The facts are out there. They are no longer hidden. They know! Cannabis hemp facts are too important to ignore.
Our economy and environment need hemp for industry! We need jobs and a new market to stimulate our economy. Stop the madness! "Reefer Madness" was a movie, not reality! "Hemp for Victory" was a documentary made by our own government, based on reality. Why do our leaders choose fiction, over reality? That's just crazy! 'It's time' to stop the madness and reclassify cannabis hemp.
